My dealer actually helped adjust my Fabspeed intake.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a new C4S. I put in a true-flow filter. I also put in the Fabspeed air intake tube, or cold air kit as they call it. I was a little apprenhesive about $225 for a neopreme hose. Of course there is a little more with it. But I have to say, what a difference! I really can feel a big difference. It really opens it up. And improves the overall smoothness of the engine, and the sound is highly improved. It may be hard to believe, but every 996 3.6 should have this.
I found trhe same on my '99 C4. Better throttle response and a fantastic wail above 5000rpm (try it full-throttle under a long tunnel)
Don't think there is any meaningful power increase though - absolutely marginal at best. But that is what is expected from this kind of mod. Worth the money for the sound alone though.
Fabspeed mufflers next....
Incredible. I felt and still notice nothing. In fact if anything the car feels slugish at times.
And to make matters worse my dealer said to get it off or it will void warranty because it is before the catylitic convertors. The only non approved Porsche aftermarket mods that will NOT void the warranty they told me are any exhaust systems because they are after the cats.
So...I have a 3 week old, used one week Fabspeed Intake for sale because the unscrupulous folks at Fabspeed wont' allow me to return it.
Make me an offer. PSE all the way!!!
Either your dealer doesn't like you or he is full of ****. Pfaff, Canada's largest Porsche dealer happily installed all my Fabspeed stuff, no problem. They even commented on how good it sounded!
what happened to all the folks here a couple weeks ago who sided with me and claimed they didn't notice anything as well ?
Sorry but with stock exhausts there is NO sound difference and if chips don't make our cars faster how would a red rubber tube make them "noticebly faster".
Just looking for answers not trying to ruffle any feathers.
Hey Carbon I hope my dealer likes me...Bought 2 from him and sent 2 to him. It's quite possible he doesn't know ****, but also keep in mind all our dealers differ in how they conduct business and just what they opt to do for someone.
it will void your warranty on anything that can be tied to the aftermarket part you installed. for instance, they can't deny a warranty claim on a blown engine because you have lowering springs. they have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem. but, if your throttle body fails and you have the fabspeed intake, they'd have a very valid point to deny a warranty claim. if you get an camshaft bearing leak, they'd have a little harder time denying your warranty claim. i just had two leaking bearings in my engine replaced under warranty, and i have one of the cone filter kits on my car.
My dealer actually helped adjust my Fabspeed intake. The fit was tight, and I brought it into the dealer, and he helped me put it on. I think it depends on your dealer, and your service rep. I think if he thinks you might give him a poor rating if he gives you too much grie, he might be a bit more amicable.
