Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Those were the major issues, Minor ones included little things like a problem with my PCM I (which the dealer replaced), and a loose ash tray.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Blown out of proportion - you've got to be kidding. Porsche has a fault in their manufacturing process for which they are not owning up to in public. Talk to some of the folks over on the Porsche Pete's Boxster Board that are being told the repair is on their nickel because they are out of warranty. I think that we are just starting to see the tip of the iceberg as more and more cars go past their warranty period and develop an RMS leak.
That's when I think the s*** is really going to hit the fan. It's a definite issue for me.
I have an '03 C4s with delivery in Feb. I have to say that this is by far the most reliable car I have ever owned. In the first year and a few months of ownership, it's only needed an oil change.
Can't say the same about my Audi S4 or even my old Acura.
Not a single drop of oil leaked.
My '03 C4s had a leaking RMS at 4k miles. I was inconvenience for a day, while the dealer replaced the seal. Really no big deal, unless of course it happens again.
I think i just found an rms leak on my 2003 C4S. it's using more oil that originally, so that may be the cause.
i'm no mechanic, but i'd think that none of these cars should have rms problems...i've never had a clutch, transmission, engine problem with any car i've ever owned in over 750,000 miles and 26 years....then i buy a $90,000 car and people on here keep trying to justify why porsche quality sucks on this rms issue.
I am the 2nd owner of an '01 Turbo and I came to find out that Porsche replaced the engine for the original owner after 6,000 miles because of an "unfixable" oil leak. At 18,000 miles I had a blown diverter valve and a problem with the MAF.
Those were the major issues, Minor ones included little things like a problem with my PCM I (which the dealer replaced), and a loose ash tray.
While it is very concerning that the car needed a new engine in 6,000 miles, it is good to know that Porsche is willing to go to that extreme to fix a problem.
