Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I previously had an S4 and you still needed to change tires for the winter.

If I had PSM I'd have a few extra months where I might use the car (when the weather might get ugly umpredictably).

Living in Monana now, so have limited use of the car due to weather.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have a '99 C-2 with no LSD. Living in Monana now, so have limited use of the car due to weather. Before I do the smart thing and sell it (for an Audi S4??), I have to ask you folks:
Are there any stability management products I could retrofit? If I had PSM I'd have a few extra months where I might use the car (when the weather might get ugly umpredictably).
Doubt it, but had to ask.....
What about a C4S with PSM and M & S?
I suspect your retro is just not worth the hassel - if it is possible. But, since I don't know I'll leave that to the experts.
Not entertaining the C-4 for one reason: money. Have absorbed over a 30K loss on the C-2 as it is, and don't want to do it all over again with a C-4 since I don't think of it as a true winter car.
Anyway, convinced it ain't doable since Viken has told me so.....
Thanks all...
THe amount of money you'd have to put in to add the various sensors, wiring computers, etc would prob be more than the cost of trading up to a C4. Lemme tell you though that a C4 with snows is better than any suv so you should seriously consider it.

I drove my C4S all winter here in Chicago on winter tires with no problems. Maybe you should look at a used C4S. I previously had an S4 and you still needed to change tires for the winter. Ground clearance was not dissimilar to the C4S, but in enjoyment terms wasn't even close.
If the C4S doesn't work, why not add a used Scooby Doo for winter, bad weather, and hauling, and keep the C2 for 3 seasons driving?
it's definitely a true winter car. put some snow tires on it and it'll out handle anything on the road in the winter, and you can drive it in 6" of snow without a problem. i've gone in even more snow than that a few times too, but you just have to be ok with the fact that you can't see what's in the snow and your front bumper is going to be a snowplow...
What are the roads like that you can't hardly drive it? Does it snow 9 months of the year? If it does, a RWD car with snow tires will do fine, if we're just talking about rain then it will do great if your tires are not bald. If it's ice, then no car does well in ice.
C.
I may just try snow tires, guys....
We don't get a lot of snow accumulation here, but I'm in Montana, so the risk of unexpected icy conditions is there as late as May and as early as September. Kind of shortens the road trip season in a C2. I figure I'd be bolder with PSM, and much bolder with the C4.
Really like my car, though, because I feel like 7 months a year in it is worth more than all year in an Audi S4.....It was supposed to be my last car for a LOOOOng time, and I should have considered that my time in California might be shorter than my intended time with the car when I bought it.......
I appreciate the comments.
