Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

At 5000 miles, is this an indication of dreaded RMS problems. Car never abused or misused, just noticed it on a steep incline today. Also it seems to stick and then pop at the end of the release, any ideas, faulty pressure plate etc?

POST 2Original post

QUICKLY! : Check oil under the car or if there is any humid patch between the gear end and the engine.. Any oil found thereabout means RMS leak.. 5000miles with clutch prbm and never abused, are you new to clutch transmission/!?!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been driving stick shifts for more than 30 years, and have never ever had a clutch problem. So no I'm not new to a clutch

POST 4Original post

Cool.. so what about the bottom of the car, have you checked it?! waz

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took it to the dealer and I'll find out what the issue is. They tell me that from 02 onwards there have been no real RMS issues..the biggest problem has been the radios.

POST 6Original post

Bull****! RMS leaks keep appearing more or less just the same after the new seal in 2002.

POST 7Original post

...then I guess the two RMS leaks that I have had on my '02 never really happened. That's good to know!

POST 8Original post

2002 C2 RMS leak times 3 before 15,000. Find another dealer (key their loaner)

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, No RMS problem, they replaced the flywheel and clutch. No questions asked!

POST 10Original post

And no real explanations of what the problem was either right? Make sure you check you don't get any oil on the garage floor just in case. Though I'm almost 100% sure they also changed the RMS and accesory shaft seal just in case it was that at the same time since it was no extra work after pulling the tranny out.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nope, There was no RMS leak.
