Suggestion

From what I understand, if you are using the EVO piece with a different strut setup, like the PSS9 for instance, then its fine because there is a different provision for the top of the spring.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm considering installing camber plate for my 2000 996. Who offers camber plate for 996's?

POST 2Original post

POST 4Original post

I ordered these camber plates from Evolution Motorsports. I called them and the Racers Group and asked them both "What's the difference between your camber plates?" and I didn't get an answer.... Well I got the EVO plates installed them and the big difference is that their model, while $100 cheaper, does not allow you to reuse the stock upper spring bearing. So you have a choice whether to let the spring scrape along the bottom of the plate, or to put the stock spring rubber there, which causes the spring to make loud noises. Very annoying. The Racers Group camber plate allows you to re-use the stock spring bearing, and so its very quiet. From what I understand, if you are using the EVO piece with a different strut setup, like the PSS9 for instance, then its fine because there is a different provision for the top of the spring. If however, you have the stock strut setup, don't do like I did, instead go with the Racer's Group.

POST 5Original post

How much negative camber are you able to set it to?

POST 6Original post

With the stock setup, they could only get -.2 front on my car, which wasn't enough for track tires, thats why I went with the plates. The plates were able to only get -.8 front (despite the 1-1.5 I was told I would be able to get), which is actually a HUGE difference in terms of the handling of the car -- even on the street its an obvious difference. I have no idea why these cars seem to come from the factory with 0 camber in the front. My rear is now at -1.4.

POST 7Original post

I had PSS9's installed last week and the shop was able to get -1.4 camber up fronts. I want more though so I am exploring GT3 control arms with Gert.
