Suggestion

If it was done INTENTIONALLY instead of an accident for not paying attention, you could of blown 2 of his tires instead of keying the door, since he probably doesn't care about the car and its scratches but he would care about not being able to go were he wanted when he got in the car afterwards and not a very expensoive repair but inconvenient, then repeat as needed

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

48 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I parked under a tree next to my house and a stupid land cruiser idiot wanted to benefit from the shade as well.. he went into my front license plate and over it scratched the front bumper.. not much which i cant remove with some polish.. it looks so much intentional.. ...now he's gonna wonder who chewed on his license plate and where the heck the key line scratch on his front hood came from... Dont mess with my Porsche.. waz

POST 2Original post

Wow...didn't you get broadsided a month or so ago...?

POST 4Original post

Why not rent a 30 ton truck and let him feel your pain!

POST 5Original post

Man, you have no luck, first the truck turning into you now this... that's worse than NYC!! I've found that people have absolutely no respect for other people's property, it's really disturbing.

POST 6Original post

I am really hoping you were kidding about keying the hood?

POST 7Original post

I once pulled up to park next to a bmw and noticed it had these words keyed all over its passenger door "You scrached my door. Ahole!" The bmw passenger had obviously opened his door onto someones car and scratched it. This was the retaliation. I thought it was quite funny but rightly deserved. Anyway, I decided to park my car away from the bmw

POST 8Original post

"...now he's gonna wonder who chewed on his license plate and where the heck the key line scratch on his front hood came from..." "This was the retaliation. I thought it was quite funny but rightly deserved" Man this is a tough crowd - glad this is only the internet and none of you are close to ME

POST 9Original post

come on waz you know an eye for an eye leaves every body blind!

POST 10Original post

I'm sure the driver of the Land Cruiser will be a little more careful parking next time. Everybody needs a little wake up call once in a while.

POST 11Original post

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind... Well, judging from the skill level of my fellow drivers, that day has come and gone...

POST 13Original post

please please please tell me that you don't think this was an appropriate response?!?!?! This sort of thing is beginings of anarchy guys! I mean some one has to end the cycle! How about a note on the guys window instead??

POST 14Original post

A good idea might be to take a photo of the car showing it had done the damage and then file a police report and have the guy pay for it. That accomplishes what you need without continuing the cycle. Just my $.02

POST 16Original post

The problem is that some people just don't care about their cars all that much. What would you do if an SUV backed up and ran over your kid? Would you just leave a note? Well guess what, I love my Porsche and if you mess with it, be prepared.

POST 17Original post

There is no greater evil than anarchy. Sophocles I am not trying to anger anyone. For me this is a simple "what's right" issue not a "who's right" issue. I don't think aggression in these matter bares much other than more aggression. If those people get their car keyed in retaliation it COULD make them think...but it COULD ALSO make them more resolved to be CARELESS Since I have had my 911 it has had 2 door dings and it has been keyed once. It sucks and I do get upset but then i come talk to you guys and you make me feel supported and tell me how to fix it...and i feel better! we few are a privileged few. let all our actions speak to the wisdom we have attained in working so hard to obtain our precious jewels.

POST 19Original post

I have lost 5 pounds since I got my Pcar. Parking in the back row of the parking area has kept the car pristine and the extra walking has me in better shape than the Governor of California.

POST 20Original post

i would have snipped his valve stems with cable cutters...just kidding...maybe just pissed in the windshield wiper wells so he smells urine everytime he runs his A/C...you could always back out his lug nuts a few turns...JUST KIDDING--STAY AWAY FROM MY PORSCHE!

POST 21Original post

The same ahole who does not care if he nicked your fender or dented your door will probably not care if you do the same to his. My take is you accomplished nothing except proved you are not mature enough to deal with the fact that there are inconsiderate people in the world. I hope you have never accidently caused someone grief and that they have not taken such an over-the-top response.

POST 22Original post

If being mature means getting walked on all over by others and just taking it, then I guess I too would choose to stay immature. I think the camps are set in their ways of thinking and this is officialy a dead horse. Let's move on.

POST 23Original post

if someone mashes your bumper and then takes off, what do you do? You call your insurance company and get it fixed. If you are the vindictive type, then you do some of the aformentioned dirty deeds. Everyone is so god damn serious around here...just a joke and a smile...lighten up, it's just a car.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys guys... the ahole had ample space behind him, he did it ON PURPOSE.. he is a neighbour who raises CHICKEN and ***** shouting all night and day disturbing us 24/7/365. Once he even brought a lamb and a COW!!!! All night going mooo mooo and beuu beuuu!! in a purely residential area... Would you leave a note to a guy like this, or would talk to him even? Ahhh.. police! yes of course, an expat getting police to complain about a local who can probably kick me out of this country.. no thanks.. I am sure residents of this country will understand what kind of person i am talking about.. Although I stress that people of this country are very well mannered but there are aholes everywhere in the world.. ..and yes, i keyed him. *bite me* Waz

POST 25Original post

Ever see the movie The Godfather? the scene with his horse's head in the bed? that would work miracles If it was done INTENTIONALLY instead of an accident for not paying attention, you could of blown 2 of his tires instead of keying the door, since he probably doesn't care about the car and its scratches but he would care about not being able to go were he wanted when he got in the car afterwards and not a very expensoive repair but inconvenient, then repeat as needed I have gotten many door dings, you just can't avoid it, people don't care and there is even some intentionality in it when the car is a high-end attention grabbing one, some people are like that. Some people here even park by "feel" instead of using their eyes, the use their car's bumper to feel when they have touched the other car and keep maneuvering to park that way

POST 26Original post

Brain, "it's just a car" I am hoping you clarify that. For most, their Porsche is a religous experience and not "just a car". WAZ, like I said on p.1....rent a 30 ton truck and "do unto others as they have done unto you" rbs996, has shown us the moral to the story and it is one I follow on a dialy basis. Just park out at the end of lots, etc. and walk your lazy tail the extra 100 yards but understand that every once in a while some idiot will park out there as well. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE!!! Now.....I think this topic is a dead horse that does not need to be beat anymore.

POST 27Original post

POST 28Original post

i give up com-by-yaaaah-ma-loord-com-by-yaaaaah.....

POST 29Original post

Wow, this thread is like being at VW Vortex in the Mk3 forum.

POST 30Original post

If some guy scratches my car purposely and takes off without leaving a note or something I swear if I catch that mother ***** his car will be in ashes lol

POST 31Original post

Exactly my feeling...maturity has no bearing on this discussion whatsoever...none of us have worked so hard to get what we have...and then let it be defaced by some kind of butt rash who has no respect for anyone else... eye for an eye, call it anarchy if you want to...

POST 32Original post

What a gutless concept. I had a similar situation occur with a careless a-hole neighbor and I confronted the guy about it. But that takes some guts.

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hdude, we all react to the instant of the moment.. i did it that way and took everyone's note and advice, encouraging or not.. Next time if ever it happens again, i will tell what happens.. Waz

POST 34Original post

Waz, You've always seemed like a class act. Next time, don't stoop down to the level of the moron that caused the situation... you may find yourself at his level forever. A better alternative...stuff a potato or two up deep up his exhaust pipe. The car will die, and he or his mechanic will spend the rest of his life trying to figure out why. Perry

POST 35Original post

waz-- i believe we have all replied with u.s. solutions that would be ineffective in a 3rd world country where the rule of law is not important. nevertheless, given the fact that you will be able to polish out your scratched bumper, you clearly overeacted. in the future, i would suggest simply letting the air out of all 4 of his tires. i fear that keying his hood has set you up for even worse retaliation. let us know...

POST 36Original post

Carfelul... UAE is not a third world country not at least according to the world bank http://www.reading.org/membership/devel_countries.html

POST 37 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Exactly what i said.. my natural reaction was to key him and at the time it was the only thing that went thru my mind.. I guess with a little education from yours side, I will learn to control my temper next time.. so i went and parked at the same place again! ;-) Waz

POST 38Original post

Waz, you got way more to loose than that guy. I would not escalate the violence against cars if were you. At least I would do it in a way that does not point back to me. Get your revenge a couple of days later instead of immediately, then talk to him about what ******** people can be having no respect for nice cars. I think he will be more sensitive to the issue next time.

POST 40Original post

POST 41Original post

Yes I agree - you got more to loose. Ive been in situations in bars where someone has said something to **** me off. Expecting an aggressive reaction I have just smiled and got my revenge a few days later, and if I feel especially sour, again the following month. I have to be careful cos my 996 is vunerable to anyone determined enough to damage it. If I didnt have the car I would not be so cautious. Have your revenge but be careful and try not to link it back to you - that way you still have the last laugh. The 'thinker' ALWAYS wins!!!!

POST 42Original post

jbd-- perhaps not 3rd world in income but how about in terms of their legal system?? especially when dealing with a foreigner regarding an expensive german sports car?

POST 43Original post

It is amazing how many gutless liberals there are in the world. Lack of action in situations like this is why the world is where it is today.

POST 45Original post

Next time, go over and cut the cow's head off and leave it on his truck!

Karma is as karma does. Waz, you just started another cycle... Good luck,

POST 47Original post

growing up in west philly I used to solve most every conflict with violence...I mean extreme and ugly violence. There was a time where i had no care for peoples limb or life. My friends felt and did similar. I have done and seen things that would land me in jail or dead on many occasions. I lost some very good friends who continued to live this way...to jail or death. True, I am very very liberal but i am also very very pro non violence and and very very anti-retribution...so gutless...in my case is misguided and quite inaccurate. I worked extremely hard to "get out of that environment" I have no desire to go back not literally and not in action. Again my hope here is to encourage peace because I truly believe it is the only thing that endures. The only alternative to coexistence is codestruction. Jawaharlal Nehru (1889 - 1964)

POST 48Original post

"The only alternative to coexistence is codestruction. Jawaharlal Nehru (1889 - 1964)" This a lofty passage...it's over simplification though. I consider myself very liberal in many ways, but if some butt rash jacks with my Porsche, be sure I will smoke him out of his hole. "Thinkers always win"--so true, so true. Get them back when they least expect it, and never reveal your sources! GW Clinton
