Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone have a spare clock spring / horn contact assembly / contact unit for a 996 3 spoke airbag steering wheel? Thanks...

POST 2Original post

It does not matter on a 996/Boxster if it is for a 4 or 3 spoke. What may matter to you is that the one for the tip has 2 extra wires for the shift buttons on the steering wheel. So, if you need the 2 extra wires then you need the one from a tip. 2 of our local guys have replaced the manual transmission version with the tip version because the now have a tip steering wheel on their manual transmission car. The tip shift buttons are used to control the trip computer. Might try the wanted section of renntech.org since that is where we do our local work on cars days. Jeff

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 4Original post

Too bad. I know where you could find 3 used manual transmission units.
