I have recently purchased a 99 996 C2 cab and noticed while driving on a warm day that my temperature light was flashing on and off....so I checked the water coolant which was low........I topped it up to the max mark and checked it after a few days and it seem's to have dropped slightly to under the min mark.......does anyone have any ideas what this could be??......am I looking at a serious problem here!....the car was running slightly warmer than before but I just put that down to it being a warm day and the lack of water in the tank..........

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 3Original post

prob a cracked reservoir. A know problem with the P-Car. Just had mine replaced (2 months after warranty expired). About $700, but the dealer picked up the parts cost since it is a known problem and I paid the labor (about $450). Not a DIY project since the way it is in there they have to remove a bunch of lines, etc., and sometimes move the motor a bit. Good luck.

POST 4Original post

Had to replace mine too on my Turbo. Parts are cheap: less than CHF 100 (USD 77) for the tank, but as already mentionned, the labor is a bit of a hassle. Paid roughly CHF 550 (USD 420) for it. Greetings, --Pierre
