Can somebody explain the difference betwen these two suspension upgrades (other than an additional $350 for the X74)? And which would you recommend for a weekend driver that drives hard, but doesn't track the car. Thanks. Gary

What ever you do ,get H&R sway bars they are about $500 and they make a big difference.

I went with the X74's. The M030 will drop your car 20MM front and 10MM rear; the X74's are 40/30. In addition, I think the X74's are a little stiffer and easier to install as the spring and shock are a one piece unit. Both kits come with sway bar replacements. Talk to Gert at Carnewal. The two suspension use the same sway bars. They have different shocks and springs. The X74 lowers about 1 inch and the M030 is 1/2 inch. The x74 is about 10-20% stiffer. I use the M030 which is just right for the street. I think its a little soft for track events, yet it still handles good. IMO the extra 1/2 inch is helpful going up driveways, and since you don't track cars get M030.

no. i think it's explained above. the x74 is the 'sportiest' suspension option offered by the factory for a base 996. i believe the c4 and tt use the x73, which is the counterpart to the x74. with the x74 the car also sits a 1/2 inch lower than with the row m030. the german magazines tested all three (stock, mo30, x74) and the x74 yeilded better track times. if i could put it on my '00, i would have it instead of the row m030.
