Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

That way you can not only adjust the volume, but you can adjust frequencies which may be reflected off the surface of the windshield differently to get the sound very even.

You really just want to make sure you have a crossover than can let you set the tweeter appropriately for different settings.

What about putting the tweets in the dash and the mids in the doors (using the 5.5 liter stock sealed enclosures)?

I would like your opinion on using 6.5" comp set: what do you think about splitting the tweeter/mids?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Doug H, I am still interested in the PG amp and maybe some of your speakers. I would like your opinion on using 6.5" comp set: what do you think about splitting the tweeter/mids? The ideal (I read) is to keep them close together. What about putting the tweets in the dash and the mids in the doors (using the 5.5 liter stock sealed enclosures)? This make the install easier (I know the Focals 165s will not fit - but I hear the MB Quarts will - smaller magnet). Still need to figure out the subs strategy. thanks!!!

POST 2Original post

Yeah, I still have the amps. Splitting the speakers is fine. You really just want to make sure you have a crossover than can let you set the tweeter appropriately for different settings. Most crossovers in component sets allow you to drop volume for placement of tweeters closer to you ear. A good electronic crossover with a built in eq will allow even more control. That way you can not only adjust the volume, but you can adjust frequencies which may be reflected off the surface of the windshield differently to get the sound very even. Email me at: [email removed] about the amps. That is my work email and it always gets checked.
