However, I think it looks better on the wide body cars, I liked the clean lines of my 01 C4 and wouldn't put a fixed wing on it.

When I screw up my turbo as some people would think I am doing by replacing the spoiler with the standard one.

I always use Mobil but have heard good things about AMOCO fuels.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Took delivery of the car on Monday. I have got to say this car is awesome! It's my first manual Porsche; I must say that I am not used to all this advanced machinery. The clutch feels awesome - like a magic stairmaster. The PSE is intoxicating as is the sensual olfactory experience. Center console is exterior color is a bit funky, but not too overboard. The overall experience is definitely nothing like anything I've experienced in the cockpit of an auto. I downshifted into 4th from 5th instead of into 6th yesterday and revved it up to 5000 and did something similar today. Yikes! I have yet to do any mods - I had the 3M clear bra done the day of delivery and of course put on some bumper plugs. Anyone know where to get smokey sidemarkers? I also have a set of aluminum bezel rings sitting at home, but I heard that they do not fit perfectly so I putting those off for a later time. Here are two pics taken at the dealership - I haven't taken any others YET.
questions:
what type of gas does everyone use? (I prefer MOBIL)
is it possible to retrofit the factory turbo wing? if so how much?
Thanks and I will try to take some more pictures to post!
There is a aero kit for the C4S that looks similar to the Turbo Aerokit, but it retains the red stripe (one of the best features of the car). Here's the only place I've seen it though...

My C4 S (Atlas grey) is now about 4 weeks old and every day the car amazes me, be sure to break it in as directed by Porsche. I polished my car with zaino and did all the leather, also with Zaine, the look is unbelievable. On slate gray, it should also be great!
Enjoy

FINALLY got to some pics and some time to post them. Need to find some good roads to drive on - the roads around here suck!! Thanks for the compliments everyone.
Here are some pics:
love this pic and wanted to use as avatar, but thought that BostonMark may have a thing or two to say about that...
I love the wide body. For some reason the dark slate grey makes the rear end look HUGE. I definately need some clear side markers - how dare I post pics with the OEM oranges!!
Any input on what type of fuel is best? I always use Mobil but have heard good things about AMOCO fuels. Also, yesterday I turned the engine on and I felt like it was sputtering and ready to die for about 5 seconds and them it coughed and recovered? Is this normal flat 6 behavior?
I am so excited and will drive her as much as I possibly can!!
mal28 - I love Atlas grey as well. There was a boxster S on the showroom when I took delivery. The thing I like about Slate is the relative inconspicuousness...
Beautiful car. You said the roads suck-- where in New York are you? I'm in Northern Westchester county and there are plenty of windy roads that you can gut up to 80 mph without even trying (speed limit typically 45!). Enjoy!
Very Nice Car, Turbo.
Yeah, its cool to see some guys from Westchester here. Those pics (background) look familiar.
Oops, maybe I shouldn't have even posted. Davidmichael will kill me since I am not paying. What ever happened to a group of freindly people spreading knowledge for free?
I am in the northernmost boonndocks of New York (near the lake). If I ever come to Westchester (which I randomly do) you guys will have to let me know. Acually living in the boondocks has its advantages - like cops not kowing how to speed trap you etc
I ordered an *** load of Zaino stuff, I really like their products. Especially on black/dark cars it works awesome.
Are You all the way up near Canada?
I got a Seal C4S a month ago. My opinion about the spoilers is this. A Turbo looks like a exotic race car. A C4S looks like the street version of the turbo. I was considering a turbo but prefer the more suttle look just as it is.
Well my next porsche will be a turbo but i will have the spoiler removed and just use the standard one. I don't like them. My wife hates them. Now if it looked like a 959 that would be different.
I guess if you actually need to have one it would be different. I think the ricers just made me start hating them.
I am not trying to put it down, just don't like them. If you like it then thats all that matters.
Riad - I live in the Tompkins region (maybe I gave the impression that I was way way up) thanks for the compliments guys. As for the wing - I don't like them either. I hate ricers, but I think a wing may come in handy sometimes at speeds over 90 and maybe also on the track. IF I were to get a wing I would like to get the turbo one (and maybe have a vanity plate say "NON TURBO"
If I saw a GT a would say. Wow there is Porsche's super car. But I wouldn't really want one. It looks to Italian to me. But the 959 is fricken nice and looks like a Porsche.
As for the spoiler I think is your going to the track alot and doing high speeds then your probably better off with one.
When I screw up my turbo as some people would think I am doing by replacing the spoiler with the standard one. I would also remove the turbo badge and replace it with a 911 badge.
I was wondering about getting a fixed wing. I would need to get something custom though, because I love the wrap around C4S red lens on the deck lid so I would need something to fit in where the wing comes up, not replace the entire deck lid.
Second because my C4s is a Cabriolet I'm wondering what fixed wing I could get because when you put the top down the soft top rear lid slides back and it looks like it would hit the lid, but I think the Turbo Cab has a fixed wing so I would need to model that.
I don't think the porsche fixed wing looks rice it really makes the car look more aggressive. However, I think it looks better on the wide body cars, I liked the clean lines of my 01 C4 and wouldn't put a fixed wing on it.
Peace,
Rob
