Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My '02 TT has the factory Becker cassette stereo and the auto sound level is driving me crazy! Can this be turned off? If so, please tell me as I have tried to figure it out.. Thanks, Scott

POST 2Original post

I don't have the manual in front of me but this is definitely in the stereo owners manual. I think you hold in the 'down arrow' button for a few seconds and you get another menu with some options, rotate the right **** to move through them ....damn I forget because it's so non-intuitive. I believe the auto-volume thing is called 'GAL' but I have no idea what that stands for either. If you see it this is what you adjust. The lower the number the less the difference at speed. Good luck, Keith

POST 3Original post

goto into menu by pressing button in the middle of the top row and hold it for 5 seconds. It should display menu and use volume to make changes. I don't recall exact button which turns into menu, so you can try others.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The previously un-discovered menu contained the solution, thanks for the help! Take care, Scott

POST 5Original post

can u turn off the auto-air conditioner by any chance?

POST 6Original post

Unless I am mistaken you can... all you have to do is hit the fan speed down button until it hits bottom... then hit it again and it will display oFF or some such thing. Then it is off. If you mean make it manual and not auto ? Then sure... don't hit auto...make an adjustment to the fan speed or temperature manually and I believe you will be in manual "Manuel" mode... Who is this Manuel guy anyway ? lol
