Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My temp gauge has gone nuts several times. The needle goes dead, then comes back on like a louse wire. the dealer has replaced the sending unit then 700mi later it did it again. They now have replaced the thermostat. I think it may be the gauge I'm waiting to see how long it lasts before it trips a code again. Has anybody had a simular problem. thanks carl

POST 2Original post

I was just getting ready to search for something similar. Today I was driving around after the car had been up to normal operating temperature for 20 minutes or so, the gauge needle is reading 'normal' range but all of a sudden the red light at the upper end of the scale starts blinking. It freaked me out but the indicator needle seemed to be working fine so I pulled over and turned the car off for about 2 minutes. Restarted and the light was out and has not yet returned. I'll check the manual for any ideas later on tonight. Coolant level, bad sensor, who knows? -Keith
