Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I guess I really should have checked into it before I went that way though,

I have the bfg ta kd 285's rear and running the junk p zero's front which can't hang with the stickiness of the bfg's.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the bfg ta kd 285's rear and running the junk p zero's front which can't hang with the stickiness of the bfg's. In any event I have 8.5f and am deciding whether to get 245's v. 225's for the front. they are both 40 series. As porsche likes to keep the tire size @ 25.1 it would bump the overall size to 25.7. Is this that big of a deal? I was warned about the size etc. It is worthwhile to note that the footprint of the 245 v. 225 is significant @ 8.86@ a 225, and 9.65 for the 245. any thoughts? I was really gung ho about getting the 245's but I don't want to do anything that will not only cost money but be unhappy with later. Suggestions?
Sean - What about the 235/40's - this is the standard size for GT3 with 8.5" rims? I would say that 245/40 are a bit too tall. Are there any 245/35 available? Having more than a 5% difference in rolling circumference between f&r can cause problems for the PSM (which you don't have on a 99) and possibly the ABS (which you do have). Also, the taller sidewall will raise the front of the car slightly (bad for aero lift) and give you less precise turn-in. But to answer your original post: no, I have no direct experience with the wider/taller fronts...
yeah I hear you I think I will just do 225's I really really wanted bigger but I want to have the same tires f&R and bfg only makes 245/40 and 225/40 no 245/35!!! Those bastards!!!
I think most of us like the look of wide, low profile tires. I think you made the right choice of performance over appearance. I'd hat to mess up the one thing that make the 996 so fun and that's its handling.
well if those bfg bastards made the correct sidewall height then I wouldn't have an issue. I guess I really should have checked into it before I went that way though,
