Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone of you got a gift from porsche when purchasing a P-car in the States? My two friends who drove a boxster got a aluminum block paper weight with their car's engine no. on it. I didnt get anything... any ideas?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh by the way, when I purchsed my C36 8 years ago.. Mercedes was nice enough to give me a pewter model of the car. And the C36 is not as expensive as the C4S I got.

POST 4Original post

I didn't get jack squat when I bought my 01 C4... however, when I bought my Lexus they gave me a 1:18 scale model of the car, which I thought was nice. This might have more to do with the dealership then the car manufacturer.

POST 5Original post

When my wife and I bought our Volvo, we got in the mail a round tin of cookies, followed a few weeks later by some nice thank you cards etc. Then a month later, they were nice enough to send our first payment invoice

POST 6Original post

I got the aluminum block paper weight when I bought my '02 cab in Oct. '01 but I think PCNA discontinued it or gave people the option of buying it.

POST 8Original post

I have never received anything for any car that I have ever purchased both corporately and personally! You guys must be better looking than me!

POST 9Original post

I got the aluminum pylon with the Porsche crest & VIN number when I bought my '02 Carrera--it was in return for turning in the customer sat survey. When I bought my '04 Carrera, there was an order form included with all the manuals--now they charge something like $90 for it.

POST 10Original post

The original owner of my car got one of those aluminum blocks, but FWIW he bought it in Canada. I got it passed on to me when I bought the car 3 weeks ago. Oh, and when I bought my Volvo from my father-in-law 6 years ago, he let me stay married to his daugher. Does that count?

POST 12Original post

and all I got was "FIX RMS FOR FREE" card, but it lasted for the duration of the warranty.

POST 13Original post

A Nice Key Ring and A Smile To Last A Lifetime :-)

POST 15Original post

Got the aluminum pylon with the VIN, a Porsche key ring, and later a $100.00 gift certificate. Also, they gave me a certificate of authenticity that it was a genuine Porsche car, as opposed to a fake Porsche car I suppose .

POST 16Original post

Certificate of authenticity... that's classic.

POST 17Original post

I got a wash mit a few weeks later with my VW. (just what a concours guy wants!) My S2 was bought used, but the owner threw in a set of tires! Cant complain!

POST 18Original post

The trend I see in the responses and the BS I got from my dealer were The Cert of Authenticity was a program the PCNA was running at the time A time period in 02, as it was in the trunk of my 02 S, that I bought in 03. Later when I got it home there was a certificate that you sent in for the Pylon with your VIN # on it. I sent it in and 3 months later this box shows up with it inside. Pretty cool Wished it had the Boxster S in between the Porsche script and VIN #. Got it next to a Model of the S and a 550 spyder both in silver. Nice conversation piece. Dealer did give me a great deal on the Litronic's ($995 - $100 Parts coupon for $895.00 self installed). Mike M 02 986S AS/GG/GG

POST 19Original post

I got key chains and cups with my wife's Audi and a M3 hat and key chain with the M3. I received a great Porsche with a nonfunctioning PCM II and a promise to fix it!

POST 20Original post

I got the pylon with my Vin numbers about a month after I purchased my 02 Carrera. The dealer gave me a key chain and let me and my wife pick out 2 shirts.

POST 21Original post

I got a payment book from the bank, and a nice looking, faaassssttt, car.

POST 22Original post

When I bought my 2002 C2, Porsche mailed me a 1/18 scale model of the Carrera GT.

POST 23Original post

I got a birthday card and a laminated certificated of authenticity from my Porsche dealer (Jim Ellis) today. Pretty cool, even gave the day my car was born 3/10/2003. I guess I need to buy my Porsche a birthday gift in a couple of months. Still looking for the obelisk with the VIN to show up any day now.

POST 24Original post

I was given a key ring with the crest on it when I picked up my car - nice, being that I probably would have bought it anyway. The manager of the dealership did tell me that the individual who referred me there was given a jacket. The difference was that this was my first car ('03 C2 Cab) and he had already bought a few cars from them. Maybe when I get my turbo they'll give me an "upgrade" on my thank you gift.

POST 25Original post

My salesguy gave me a Carrera keyring, aluminum box-O-tequipment cleaning/detailing stuff, picture of me next to my new car in the Porsche delivery room, lunch at the Porsche restaurant (twice), Cayenne cookbook and a tour of the factory. But that's about it.

POST 26Original post

Wow, a Cayenne cook book, those must be some HOT recipes
