This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I fixed it by pulling and reinserting the "sound system" fuse.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 03 Bose does not output any sounds - head unit seems to be working. I recall this problem, but a search did not get me any hits in the archive - what is the cause and cure? Thanks, wino

POST 2Original post

Turn key off, get out, lock and unlock car. May work. Also, could you have muted it by mistake?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will try that tomorrow - definitely did not mute it. I tried switching off car and restarting a couple of times, switching stereo on and off. Thanks

POST 4Original post

This morning my 2003 TT did the same thing. Error message was "unable to communicate with amplifier". I fixed it by pulling and reinserting the "sound system" fuse. I think it was D9 in the fuse panel. -Glen

POST 5Original post

Wino, I had the same experience with my 2003 C2. The problem happened several times on different occasions and then one day nothing worked. My dealer replaced the head unit. I have had no problems since. Since it is under warranty I suggest a trip to the dealer for replacement. You really do not want an intermittent problem.

POST 6Original post

There's is a service advisory for '03 radios. If your car falls within a VIN range, Porsche will replace your head unit. I had my done a few weeks ago when I took it in for my 15K service. The unit was malfunctioning for a day or so, early last year, but worked fine prior to its replacement. Because my car was within the VIN range that had the "faulty" radios, the dealer went ahead and replaced it under a recall warranty.
