I need some objective help. I'm in the process of purchasing a 99 C4 with 29,000 miles for $40K. What would be my estimated annual maintenance? I will be driving in the the Chicagoland winters too. i have 18" dunlop winter sport M2s on my car and they're awesome. whether you have 17 or 18 inch wheels on your car i highly recommend getting a set of these tires! there's a lot of other guys on here that have the same tires and i'm sure they'll recommend them too. i don't even bother using different rims in the winter. i don't see a reason to waste money when my 18s are more than up to the challenge.

Tdsc4, That's a difficult question to answer because we don't know the condition of your car. From what I have read, I'm not there yet in terms of mileage, the 30k service should cost in the range of $300-$500. I would recommend paying a Porsche dealer to check the car out. Make sure to have them check the Rear Main Seal. If there's a problem then don't buy the car!! In regards to snow tires, they are a must. You would be an accident waiting to happen if you didn't. I have Dunlop winter sport M2's, they are excellent. My rims are 18" and I haven't had any problems in the snow. Best of luck on your purchase. Pat

I have 17 inch winter sports on my C4 and drove it through the blizzard we had yesterday with no problems. 16 might be too small to fit around the brakes though, I think 17 is the minimum. Bobby
