I just put in a new battery and it still only works about 50% of the time. IT seems to work best when approaching the front of the car. Any suggestions? Anyone else having problems like this?

Actually mine doesn't work terribly well - not like those in the BMW's I've had, where you use it from 20-30 feet away - but idoes seem to alwayts work after a few presses of the button. I'd like to know if there's a way to improve it.

I have the same problem with one of my keys which I have to push approaching the car from about 5 or less feet. The other key works fine from about 20 feet away even though I changed the battery. bobby

Try holding the key with the metal end that you insert into the ignition switch straight up in front of you and then push the button. When mine is at my side it doesn't work very well; but when I hold it up in front of me it's good for twenty feet or so.

I have the same problem. I replaced the battery (since it stopped working) and it worked great for a few days. After a couple of weeks however, it only works after repeated presses and only in close proximity. Very lame.

Touch the metal part of the key to your chin when you lock/unlock it; or; buy a Lexus (their keys work great)... Roy
