Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just noticed a parking dent on my car. It's above the rear wheel, near the wheel arch. Is it actually possible to get it pushed out from the inside? I had this done on my merc. The guy stuck some metal rods down my windows and pushed it out. Is this possible on a 996???? Doesn't look like it.. I'm going to have to get it freaking resprayed... arggggggggggggggggh Chucksta

POST 2Original post

Same thing happened to me above the wheel arch...seemed it was about a mile deep, but the paint was not broken. A skilled dent demon removed the tire and wheel well liner and smoothed it out. It is absolutely invisible. If your paint isn't chipped, it can be fixed in a few hours.

POST 3Original post

If the dent is smooth and not creased then it can be removed. It should not be bigger then the circumference of a baseball.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do you remove the wheel well liner??? anyone???? Nothing worse than a dent on the curvy bit of the car!!!

POST 5Original post

It happened to me as well. Same place where you describe it. The guy drilled a hole thru the wheel well liner, fixed the dent, and then plugged the hole using rust-inhibiting compound. All in all, its very hard to tell where he drilled in and I know exactly where to look for it. The dent came clean out w/o no artifacts left behind.
