Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my car there is an almost inch wide streak on the inside of the window going from top to bottom (obviously from opening and closing the window). This streak is near the front and you have to look through it to see the mirror. The interesting thing is that on the passenger side I now have the same streak in the exact same location. What causes this? How easy is it to fix? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

On each side window, there are 2 foam pads (one near the front, and one near the rear) which press against the window to keep it from rattling. They get grease or dirt on them and this causes the marks you are seeing. I've had this problem on all 3 Carreras I've owned. Had them replaced on my '04 a month ago.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Was that covered under warranty?

POST 4Original post

Yes--covered. Your dealer should be very familiar with this issue. Seems like they all keep replacement pads in stock.

POST 5Original post

Tinting the windows seems to help. One would assume the tinting plastic would get damaged but apparently its more slippery than the glass.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
