Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

--I used 303 Protectant to give the visor a uniform appearance once all residue was off (gives it a nice matte finish--not shinny)
Leading evidence: 'Use 303 protectant' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use 303 protectant' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

--once label is off, there was a residue left on mine, and I used 3M adhesive cleaner for that--saturate a rag and give it time to work--it will "melt" the residue as you rub for a minute or so

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I considered it, but the feedback I got was that you had to have the unit mounted high anyway, so what's the point? I ended up having the V1 remote display mounted in the center console shelf, below the CD trays. That way, the display can light up (particularly at night), without everyone seeing the christmas tree display lighting up through the windows.
It works great!
I think the mirror display makes a lot more sense if the unit is remote mounted (e.g. K40)
The mirrors are excellent as far as visibility, since its pretty much in you line of sight without being obtrusive, but as winovin said, you still need to mount the main unit.
Also the mirrors are typically as much as the V1 itself...
Since you need to locate the main unit high on the windshield, near the rear view mirror, these mirrors don't make sense to me--plus they're very expensive. I got the remote display unit and had it installed on top of the steering wheel housing--great location since you don't have to move your eyes much to quickly look at it.
Main unit pic (lights stay off when you have remote display unit installed):

I think the mirror read-out is counter-productive. A main reason for the remote display is to keep the red lights out of the line of sight of the cop who's pulling you over. The radar display is kind of like a red flag waving in front of a bull. I have mine on the collumn (like Poursha) and it's been great. AS
Unless you live in a state where radar detectors are illegal (there are a few, like Virginia I believe) and you need to conceal the whole contraption, the remote display works fine, and is only $29. I have mine on the steering column, which is great because you will see it flash without even having the sound on. My $0.02...
Not the way I did it. I put it on the driver's side. When the visor is down it covers the lights, but the sensor is still exposed making it stealthy yet functional.
I love mine I highly recommend it! Not only is it functional it cleans up the interior. I have been using mine for a few weeks now and it works great. I bought mine during a stock liquidation through Beast Power. I also get compliments on it every time someone gets in the car. If you have the extra dough to spend.
With that set up it seems like the V1 main unit is mounted so low that you would lose some range. The mirror does look slick, though if you mounted the V1 in front it would be redundant.
Maybe 10" tops lower... I have found no degradation having it mounted lower. I know where all my ussual false alarms are on the way to and from work, the range is the same mounted in both locations. The V1 also saved me a few days ago on the 73 laser went bizurk...
Yes--if the passenger puts the visor down, it will block the rear sensor. Since for most of my driving (back and forth to work) there's no passenger--and even with a passenger the visor isn't used that often--I decided to put it there.
The alternative is to put it by the driver's visor (like Rob in WA and other have), so the rear sensor will still work with the visor down, but in that location, you lose full forward movement of the visor, so I put it on the other side.
If I need to move the visor forward I have to unclip it and put it in front of the V1. I then lose the front sensor, being in WA this is a very rare occasion.
Sandoval - a little denatured alcohol will get rid of those airbag stickers.
Poursha thx for the note
UGGGG I know I know They are on my TO DO list... it is funny the number of people that point them out it. Rob I am doing it this weekend for you man! Do you think alchol or the Orange smelling goo be gone stuff work better? What are you guy using a semi har rubber scraper tool? btw My seats came out of a GT2 why do some Sport seats have them and others don't?
To remove the airbag warning labels:
--remove visors from the rod that is stuck into them by moving up and down while pulling toward the center of the car (I did my first 2 cars while visors were still in car, and it's so much easier this way)
-- place visor on workbench (or protect table with plastic & towel)
--saturate a rag (folded to be slightly larger than label) with denatured alcohol, place over label and give a few minutes to soften label
--starting at one corner, rub with saturated rag and the label (actually painted on) will start to peel off--it takes a bit of pretty hard rubbing
--once label is off, there was a residue left on mine, and I used 3M adhesive cleaner for that--saturate a rag and give it time to work--it will "melt" the residue as you rub for a minute or so
--I used 303 Protectant to give the visor a uniform appearance once all residue was off (gives it a nice matte finish--not shinny)
--on the mirror side, I put a folded up paper towel between the mirror door and the visor to catch any liquid
--on the non-mirror side, you'll be left with shadow impression of the label, which will partially disappear after a day (caused by rubbing), but there will still be a slight impression left, which only you will notice!
rob, poursha
when you placed your V1 above the visor, did you
modify that big clip before wedging in? it seems that the clip
for the visor attachment is just really big.
roy
The clip opening is big. The installer had to compress it, and it was still a bit loose, so I put about 1/2 inch of felt between the V1 and the headliner, which made it steady, and also leveled the V1 (the part facing the rear was aiming up too much without the felt).
I carry a spare pair of shades for passengers as my V1 is on the visor..they don't seem to mind. The arrow indicators on the V1 make it a cut above the rest....it really is the biz.

Donny J,

Denaturing of alcohol is different than proteins, basically its adding methanol to ethyl alcohol (makes it unfit for human consumption without ruining the usefulness)
