Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The other day I noticed a small "pop" sound when I was idling at a stoplight. It sounded almost like popcorn popping. The sound was faint, almost like it was coming from outside, and it seemed to be coming from the right front area. I heard it two or three times, and I had heard it once a few months ago also. Each time, I had been driving the car slowly through town before stopping at a light. At first, I thought it was another car, or something outside, but after a few times, it must be my car. Has anyone else heard this noise?

POST 2Original post

I just recently heard this exact same noise on my '02 C2. I've only had this car for a couple of weeks now, so I don't know how long it's done it. Anyone else have any idea?? Geoff.

POST 3Original post

Metal expansion??? Temperature changes in metal would make those noises...

POST 4Original post

Hard to tell. Maybe exhaust reflecting off the wall etc. Or maybe some plumbing is not secured. You need to take the covers off the underbody to inspect these.
