Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

leasing is not great on used cars, because the residual is going to be low, compared to the cap cost, and the money factor is not going to be great.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

...on a 996? looking to upgrade from a '98 boxster to a 2001 and up 996 coupe. can't really afford buying outright so i'm thinking of leasing. thx

POST 2Original post

Go to leasecompare.com. you can run some lease scenarios and it will give you all of the information..

POST 3Original post

the lease rates on a 2001, or in fact most used porsches, are going to suck. leasing is not great on used cars, because the residual is going to be low, compared to the cap cost, and the money factor is not going to be great. you will see that the lease price of a 2002 will not be much lower than a new one.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well, if i am planning on purchasing at least end then i wouldn't mind the low residual, but if i plan on just returning it then i can understand a high residual would benefit me. am i understinding this right?

POST 5Original post

That's not necessarily true, doc - remember that the lion's share of depreciation is often in the first year (percentage wise) so when the residual factored in to a used car that already has a lot of depreciation already, you have a lower end figure with which to finance.

POST 6Original post

The most advantageous lease is usually a current model year preowned with very very low miles, provided the selling price reflects the fact that it is a preowned car.

POST 7Original post

I was just at my dealer tonight and I was talking to the salesman about leases. He said that US Bank and ?Fifth Third Bank? had the best lease rates. I leased a used 2001 earlier this year and my rate was about 2/3 what it would have been for a new ($800 vs $1200) from US Bank.
