Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all. I am new to this board. I recently purchased a Black 6 speed 2000 Carrera Cab with 54K. I feel I got a super deal on it ($40,000) and I am the second owner. I have all books and records and it was dealer serviced up to 5,000 miles ago. I have a few questions I thought some of you might be able to help with. THANKS. 1. The red spoiler light stays on all the time. The spoiler will raise and lower with the button, and I think it works when I drive over 75 mph. Any idea why it might stay lit? 2. The ABS light is on. I am getting new pads and a brake fluid change this weekend. I know the break wear light will go off, but any ideas why the abs light is on? Do you think it might go off with the breaks serviced? 3. Check engine light came on yesterday. Car runs amazingly well and strong. I am thinking it could be an 02 sensor. Any thoughts? 4. The convertible top makes noises over bumps. It is really bad in my opinion. My 99 Boxster did not do this hardly at all. MY 86 Corvette did not rattle this bad! I have already checked to see that all bolts were tight. I also cleaned all contacts and rubber. Any suggestions?? Thanks again for your input. Don Weintraub

POST 2Original post

1. The spolier light should not stay on. It signifies the spoiler is not operating properly. Should have the dealer check it. 3. Common problem. Probably the 02 sensor. I found it goes off after a day or two. 4. I had this problem with my '02 cab. Turned out to be cables in the top rubbing together. I think there's a TSB on this that involves wrapping the cables. Your dealer should be able to fix.
