Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, It is that time of year again and I'm preparing for the storage of the 996 C2. This is my first year with a p-car and was wondering if anyone could provide any good tips? Should I remove the battery entirely? Trickle charge? Fuel additives, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MT

don't store it-it is best for the car to take it out every week for 15 minutes or so and get the moving parts lubricated, etc.

POST 3Original post

Mightytaco, since I'm out of town quit often here's what I do.... 1. Inflate the tires to 50psi (maximum inflation rate) - prevents the tires from developing a flat spot. 2. I roll some regular door mats and drive my car onto them (also to prevent flat spots) 3. Fill the car with gas 4. Pour in a bottle of "stabile" (I think that I spelled it correctly - prevents the water and the fuel from seperating) 5. 1 box of Arm and Hammer inside the car (prevent meldew) 6. Plug in the battery trickle charger Of course I wash the car before I leave on my trips. I'm usually gone for about a month to 3 months and so far it seems to work. The only thing is, despite my efforts to prevent flat spots, I still get them though not as bad as if I left them alone. But after a short drive the flat spots go away. Good luck, it's certainly hard to leave my 996 in the garage but since I'm not home, its not that bad.
