Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a Cab without heated seats, I cannot believe that heated seats are not standard on a Cab, I've found on the FVD site a retrofit kit for 125 euros, has anyone out there retrofit heaters to their seats? The people at FVD in Germany suggest an upholstery shop should fit the elements, do the heater elements go in the "seat" and the back? under the "supple leather" or under the foam? any info would be appreciated. Richard

POST 2Original post

I don't know what parts are in the FVD kit. Are they the stock Porsche parts? I put Porsche heaters in my GT3 seats. The seat cushion heater is just the element with a cloth/foam backing that is peel & stick. Take the leather cover off the seat, stick the element on the foam cushion, and put the cover back on. The seat back element comes pre-attached to a foam cusion insert. Remove the insert from the seat back, remove the leather cover from the seat back insert, and apply it to the new insert. I reccommend you have an upholstery shop do the work, but it is not that hard if you want to do it yourself.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Patrick, Thanks for your reply, where did you get your heaters? my local dealer is no help. Richard

POST 4Original post

Patrick, Is all of the wiring there for the seat heaters so that all you have to do is get the heater elements and plug them in at the seats and then get the switches and plug them in at the dash and attach them? If so, how much for the parts from Porsche, seat elements and switches?

POST 5Original post

My local dealer. The parts guy was very helpful. It's quite expensive though. Search for heated GT3 seats on this forum and you'll find some cheaper alternatives. Here is the link to mine: How not to add heat to your GT3 seats

POST 6Original post

Don't know, my project was a little different. The car already had heated seats, I was adding the heaters and controllers to the GT3 seats. Even if you have to add the wiring for the switches, it wouldn't be much. The power should already be there (unless you don't have electric seats at all) and the controller mounts to the seat, so only the switch would have to wire in. Don't know what the switches cost, but I think generally Porsche switches are about $30.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have nothing in my car for seat heaters. The FVD package includes everything as far as I can tell, I asked them for more details but my request must have been lost in translation. Look on the FVD site under maint.>tools.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Google "Seat Heaters" there are lots of after market heaters out there and pro installers to do the work. I just want my seat heated I don't care if there is a Porsche switch on the dash, I guess I'm answering my own forum question.

POST 10Original post

Patrick did this for GT3 style seats which are different. Jeff

POST 11Original post

I used these for my GT3 seats. Pretty easy install, and inexpensive as well... RAME
