Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

my friend and i went to local porsche dealer to get trade in value of his 00 C2 with 34k miles, excellent condition. the fu##kers offered $28k!!! they were saying it's wintertime and no 1 buys 911s. he said other dealers wont offer more than that. needless to say i was shocked and my friend was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed!!!
I just sold my 993 and need a new car...I'll be there with $30K tomorrow...just give the word
I don't blame your friend...I'd be pretty upset, too! But hey, that's why I seldom buy new and never trade-in!
Your friend has a reason to be upset. I recently turned in my leased '00 C2
cpe w/30k miles.
Buyout was $44k - it was sold at a dealer auction for $42k.
i'll give 39k and whatevers in my pocket.
(a later investigation found the following items in my pocket)
stick of gum
$50000 cash (japanese yen)
a cancelled credit card.
email if interested!
Dealers are A**holes no ifs ands or butts! Go to traderonline.com and do a search of your exact car nationwide. That is the only real world price guide. 28K, what a joke. More like mid 40s in clean condition.
I agree. How can the dealers even offer such a lowball price with a straight face when we can go and sell it privately for almost 15-20K more. Idiots.

I just traded in my 2000 carrera with 16,000 miles. Lot of nice extras. They gave me 44,000 on trade for a 2001 Turbo late model with 12,000 miles. I paid 91,600 for the turbo. They wanted 100,000. My out of pocket costs were 60,000 and my car after taxes and licence. Ouch. Had to have that turbo.
Trade in value to dealer is wholesale value...
Want closer to retail you have to sell it yourself, meet the lookie lous, give rides, haggle and wait for someone with the cash
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo !
Sorry to hear that billh1963....I was hoping to buy your 993 someday,
you never called, you never wrote
By far the coolest color on a 993 I have ever seen....I'm sure it went to a good home. Good luck with the next 911
Htey would only give me $45k for 01 C4 cab!! OK I have 45k miles on it but its MSRp was $99275!! I'll keep it until the lease beater loan runs out and let them taqke the hit on it in 2 years! I should have 90k miles on it by then!!
Guys, Ive been shopping for my 3rd or 4th porsche for a month now. Note that 996 prices are quite low right now, especially in chicago. Currently for sale by dealers are:
1) 1999 996, at autobarn, with 24k miles 43k$. I had hime down to 39$, but decided to keep looking.
2) Luxury motors in chicago, 2 1999-2000 996 c2's, asking low forties, willing to sell in the high 30's. Ones atip, 20k miles, ones a manual.
3) cars with 40K plus miels, asking price is 38k$.
In chicago at least, the dealers are selling these currently at a loss. I just bought my boxter s for 30k$ (see other thread) - which is well below wholesale.
I think the dealer is trying to lowball you, but realistically, porsches arent selling right now...
The private party asking prices are much higher - and these cars aren't selling either.
I would say around $40-42K for trade in max, for the northern states but certainly not $28K????
Thinks can change accoring to the car you will be trading.
