Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Met another Rennlist member this weekend at a GTG and he was telling me about some sort of plastic plug you can install into the intake that cuts off that elbow pipe? He said he had an extra set and gave them to me. WOW....talk about a difference! It's like I have the sound of a CAI now. Throttle response "seems" to be better as well as top-end roll-on. I love the sound!!

POST 5Original post

I would recommend getting a short piece of 2" aluminum bar stock (about 1/2" long) for the end of the elbow. You can tighten the hose clamp and create a better seal this way. I haven't spent the time to come up with a good way to remove the resonator box and plug up that hole, so mine is still in there. I would like to remove it though to see if the added air volume has any effect. There is a noticeable improvement in sound though.

POST 6Original post

Fabspeed's cold airbox kit does the same thing, but it's neater. A plug inserts from inside the airbox muffler and the two ended hose is replaced by a smoother single ended hose. Great sound, but a little expensive for a rubber hose and a few plastic parts. http://www.fabspeed.com/
