Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Second e-mail
Ken,
How are you today. I spoke with my client over the weekend and he said I should settle for the price of 28,500 if you do not agree for 28,000. I was to relate the information before your mail came.
He has instructed me to inform you that payment will get to you in a cashier check of $34,200. Which is a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by my client.
You are required to deduct cost of the car $28,500 when payment gets to you and refund balance $5,700 to my customer via western union money transfer for him to be able to upset shipping charges.
After payment has reached you and balance sent back to him, our agent will come pick up title and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer, while title papers and other necessary documets will be handed over to the shipper as they come for pick up.
Confirm this and provide NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE number for check payment
to be delivered to you ASAP
Thanks,
Terry....

Corporate America Family Credit Union
Elgin Ill.
From Mike Campbell
I called and sure enough the check is bogus. The U.S. Secret service in investigating but has no authority in Nigeria.
SELLER BE WARE.
Ken
ken-you are correct. i get faxes from these theifs time and time again in my office-i foward it to the fbi. they tell me that nigeria is one scam after the next. everyone should be aware of this, and not to conduct any transaction unless their bank confirms that the funds have cleared. to do business any other way is crazy.
No offense to anyone here, but...you would have to be a complete moron to fall for this garbage...it shocks me that people would fall for this crap anywhere. The emails I get from these losers is constant source of amusement
OT: sorta reminds me of those internet hackers back in the 80s who has a passion for porsches and designed a system to dupe radio station sweepstakes. KIIS FM (a local radio station here in So Cal) was duped out of a couple of Porsches and some cash prizes. The hackers had the phone lines tapped so that when the DJ would say "caller 102 wins a BRAND NEW PORSCHE CABRIOLET!" they'd let 101 calls go through and then their call would go through and wouldn't ya believe it, they won a Porsche!
These types of scams are going on on Ebay all the time!! Snowmobiles, four wheelers, cars its just nuts! Whenever you see an auction that tells you to ask to be on a pre-approved bidder list it s usually a scam!!
i lived in nigeria for 14years...
my parents moved there in 1970...
it's not good to generalize about nigerians when you mention 419 scams, though there are loads of them, especially when you live there.. I've had idiots come to me asking me to travel to Ghana and bring in died 100 dollar bills to wash them over in Lagos!
nigerians are generally very kind hearted and naive in nature.. they love easy life without the complication of the techno world..
then again,,, i ran away from there and here i am..
Waz
waz-i think you are indicating that nigeria is lush with scams. no one is saying that all nigerians are scam artists. i think what some of us are saying, including myself,is that there is a disproportionate amount of scams eminating out of nigeria.
