I've been driving Porsches since the 1970s and trust me, most used Porsche buyers don't want a modified car.

Suggestion
Looks like that intake though could use a little TLC.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
27 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

This project started almost 2 years ago. It has been a great journey. The last final modifications are the 997.2 LED Taillights and the custom vented carbon fiber hood. The car will be put up for sale next week to make room for the new project. Thanks for all the support for the last two years, and its been great to be able to share with all the other fellow enthusiasts the amazing transformation.
[QUOTE=jyoteen;6573353]All that work and a crappy dremel job on the air intake shield. Ugggh[/QUOTE
Ditto. What were they thinking?
Profitable? They'll be lucky to get $35k for it in today's market,--and clearly have a ton tied up in it.
Very Nice! Good Taste and Great Accomplishment!
I'm sure whatever money you have spent (or may lose in the sale) you would have gotten its worth from the excitement of the whole process/journey, and the fulfilment of finally accomplishing your goal.
It's sad though that you are parting with it after all the time and effort spent.
But, perhaps the process of modification itself gives you more enjoyment than the final accomplishment,
and you feel the need for another round of fun, GO for It!!!
Simply stunning, but I do agree that the air intake does draw the eye in a bad way. Just send it my way and I'll have that taken care of in a couple hours.
I just spoted the "for sale" ad on ebay....

Good luck and thanks for sharing this incredible project.
What an extraordinary job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so beautiful, inside and out.
(Would also love to know what 2 components those are above the heating cooling controls.
Good luck with your sale
Pete
It predict that it will be 'no bid.' It's real market price is about $35k. Most people these days just don't want a modified car that attempts to be something that it's not. Of course, you might find that one-off baseball player who sees it and likes green.
The ad fails to mention the work they went through to fit the 997-style exterior door handles.
Guys,--I'm simply going by history. I've been driving Porsches since the 1970s and trust me, most used Porsche buyers don't want a modified car. They want a straight car that hasn't been messed with. You simply never get even 10% back out of everything you put into a Porsche as 'non factory' mods. Do you really think that all these Porsche modifiers know more about an integrated Porsche car than Zuffenhausen?
I-forged, there are a lot of modified 996 turbos out there...your's is in a different league. Your's looks incredible and has the performance to back up the looks. As a confirmed mod-aholic, I really enjoyed watching your project develop. Thanks for sharing. 61k and climbing...I have no doubt you will meet your reserve. I wish that I was bidding. Good luck.
^^^ +1 on Mark's comments. This is not a Porsche for "most buyers". This is a uniquely modded Porsche for a certain group of buyers. You cannot really put a price on something like this, a good deal to each and every individual is viewed differently. It depends on how much you like it, and how much you want it. If I was selling it, I'd aim high initially. No bites...I'd adjust accordingly.
Good Luck to you, Vincent!
