Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I only drive my C4S on the weekends, and keep it in a public garage for the rest of the time. Each time I come back to my car (5-7 days apart), the battery had drained enough so that the key will not unlock the door remotely. After manually opening the door, the car works fine. Is this the key battery or the car battery? Also, with the snow, I might not drive it for 2-3 weeks. Will I have trouble starting the car if I leave it for this long?

POST 2Original post

if you check the manual -it says that in order to convserve the battery -after 5 days the remote function is shut down. after opening car with key - need to start within 10 seeconds or so or alarm will sound. hope that helps

POST 3Original post

It is normal for the keyless entry to shut off. You might want to get a battery maintainer if you leave the car sitting. The 996 drains batterys faster than most other cars so you can't leave it sitting without the maintainer unless you start the car every 2 weeks or so. Bob
