I don't mind using jackstands to clean out the wheel well, brakes, etc.

One thing to do is to take the car to one of those DIY car washes where you can use a power wand.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Fellas,
I was thinking about the upcoming winter and had a question for you all. At the end of winter when I am doing my spring cleaning, I was thinking about giving the undercarriage of the car a good washing to get rid of all the salt and debris which will definately accumulate during the winter. Other than putting the car on jack stands (which I am not comfortable wiht yet) and getting under it, is there any other way or place to go to have the underside cleaned out.
Thanks
Bobby
One thing to do is to take the car to one of those DIY car washes where you can use a power wand. While you obviously can't raise the car you can get the wand under the car go for it. If you just use the water spray it shouldn't bother the exterior if you have a good coat of wax on it.
why are you not comfy w/ jackstands? did u have an accident or something. it's really simple to use a jackstand and u just need some common sense for safety.
i say this b/c the best way to clean underbody diy is to get teh car on jackstands, remove rims and get to work. merely sprayin water at diy carwash wont get rid of stuck on debris. u need scrubbing.
if u go to a really highend pro detailer, expect about $1k for teh job.
goodluck!
I don't mind using jackstands to clean out the wheel well, brakes, etc. Im talking about cleaning the underside like the bottom of the trans, engine, driveline and other parts you can't see. I don't feel comfortable getting under the car with jackstands. the other thing is that even if I got under the car with jackstands there wouldn't be enough room to maneuver with a bucket and soap or whatever. I don't imagine it being very fun spraying water to remove salt and debris from the underside of a car while lying under it.
Im looking for some type of hose attachment, a place that will do it for me for cheap or some other alternative.
thanks
Bobby
