Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There are people who have used the B&M like you have with the TechArt and Ruf units - but some have ended up removing the unit from the transmission and just keeping with the B&M shift lever.

I think there is a manufacturers stipulation on each that the two should not be used together.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I already have the original b&M shifter installed. but these don't look anything like them. Can they be installed together to offer adjustments or will they only work with original Porsche shifter?
does anybody know?

search threads on this board about the various short shifters. this sounds like the RUF short shifter that bolts directly onto the transmission. there are several threads debating the relative merits of each system, as well as a couple of threads suggesting their joint use.
Interesting, I have been reading messages that B&M had come out with a short shift that mounted to the transmission like the TechArt and Ruf units - but have never see a picture of the B&M unit. That is it on ebay.
I think the TechArt and Ruf units are the same - except for the price - and from the picture the B&M also looks the same. It even has the 3 holes for changing the setting.
You can use this transmission unit in combination with your B&M shift lever but you will have a very short shift. There are people who have used the B&M like you have with the TechArt and Ruf units - but some have ended up removing the unit from the transmission and just keeping with the B&M shift lever. Jeff
I just receive an e-mail from Brandywine Porsche who is selling this on ebay.
"This unit will not work with the b and m mounted at the shift lever. Its one or the other. These are 3 way adjustable for driving styles.

I know you are just passing along information. Makes no sense to me. The shift lever does not know what unit is bolted to the transmission.
I did a quick search on Rennlist and the this is the first hit. B&M lever and TechArt unit on the transmission together.

Justin is in the part department. I once asked a seller of the Ruf unit for a 996 if it would work on a Boxster S. The seller said no - since it is not on a list. The Boxster S and 996 have the same 6 speed transmission. The shop foreman at my local dealer who actually works on cars said yes. Brandywine on ebay also says it works on all Boxsters, which I think is wrong as the transmission shift linkage on the base 5 speed is different than the Boxster S 6 speed.
As far as I can tell from pictures the B&M, TechArt, and Ruf units are identical except for the color. Ask Justin why both B&M units will not work together and what is the source of his information. Then ask him if it will work on a 5 speed Boxster and see what he says.
If you search on this board you will find people who have tried a short shifter on the lever and transmission together. But, it is very short. Jeff
I think there is a manufacturers stipulation on each that the two should not be used together. Any dealership or reseller has to say that regardless of what they really think. I spoke to Justin and he said that the auction is listed as both but they are available for one or the other at the customers request.
