Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok i offer yet another trivia/pissing contest up to the masses
How young were you when you got your first P car
I was the ripe old age of 32 when I got my 996 (6 months ago)
Growing up in West Philly with no pot, **** or window it was my goal to have one by 35.
The brother dun good for himself
Regards!
i was 23 when i got my 996 C4. i grew up on a farm with very little, then got out of there and went to the big city and got a job in computers making some good $$$!
Well, my wife got her Boxster at 22, does that count?
We bought the C4S together at 25/24.
And yes, we paid for them both by working (and taking a partial loan on the C4S) AFTER buying a condo and paying off school loans.

My dream was a new Porsche before 30 and made it by one year. 1999 996 at 29, then a 2001 996 at 31. Now 33 and both 996's are gone and the 87 911 is my current daily. It has a 115K and is everything the 996 isn't. I absolutley love it and wonder why I skipped the 993 when I had the chance.
I was 20 when I drove my first P-car, a friend's '67 912. I bought my 1972 911T Targa when it was new and I was 22. The '65 356C came when I was 24, then a '63 356B when I was 35 (going backwards, I know, but the 356 was a ball to drive and cake to work on!) My wife picked the 2000 Boxter came when I was 51, and the 2002 C4S joined the Boxter in the garage when I was 53.
When I was 22 I sold my lame *** car and have never looked back since:
Age 22: '79 Euro Spec Porsche 924 - I learned quickly the art of p-car maintenance !
Age 23: '84 944
Age 25: '86 944t
Age 27: '97 Mazda Miata (I was tired of fixing the p-cars and wanted something fun and cheap - by the time I was done with it it was supercharged, lowered with koni coilovers, adjustable sways, etc. and was quite the auto-x weapon).
Age 29: '97 BMW M3 - gotta say this car was bullet proof - I beat the **** out of it at auto-x and driver's ed events and put over 100k miles on it when I got rid of it.... a very bullet proof car.
Age 32: '99 BMW M Roadster - a great car, unfortunately it's life was cut short from being parking in a building that caught on fire !!!!!
Age 33: '99 996 C4 - this car blows all the previous cars away !!!! What fun !!!
The earlier p-cars were fun and keeping them maintained helped me build my knowledge and skills and toolset so that I can do a fair bit on this current car with out buggering it up.....

I got my brand-new '84 944 at age 28, kept it for five years, then jumped ship to a Mitsu GSX. About 12 cars and 17 years later, I've acquired an '01 996 and feel like I'm back in the womb.
There truly is nothing that feels like a Porsche. However, I still have my '01 Audi S4 which is just an astoundingly terrific all-around car. If I had to chose between the two (I don't) it would be a tough call.
Got my first 993 Iris Blue when I was 35. Flew down to Beverly Hillls Porsche and purchased the car. While driving on the Santa Monica Freeway I was cut off by Bruce Willis in his Range Rover. Got my 03 Seal Grey Turbo at age 41.
A Black '83 944 at 27
A Black '90 Carrera 4 Cab at 29
A Black '02 Carrera 4 Cab (european delivery) at 34
Placed an order for a custom made by Vintage 550 Spyder to be delivered in '04
I briefly owned a LHD 1977 911 turbo bodied coupe, when I was twenty one, to be honest it really was a heap! but it was all I could afford at the time, and had always wanted a 911, a few years later around the age of 24, I bought a 911 Targa , this was really my first Porsche, it was an immaculate 2.7 finished in red, had been updated to look like a 89 spec car. I kept that for a year, until the engine chains decided to give up, and facing a 4000 rebuild I managed to sell it at a slight loss. I realised that the owning a Porsche then was still something I could not really afford!. Anyway fast forwarding the BMW 328i Coupe and M3 Evo Convertible period I bought a 2 year old 993 C4 Coupe in 99, and now also have a 996 C4 Cab. Which I bought myself for my 30th birthday last September!! I am now looking for a RHD 356C !

3 years and 30k miles ago, I got my 944. The NA beast isnt excatly a rocket sled, but when your 15, learning to drive and your friends are ricing out civics and altimas (hmm, 8k on a honda or 8k on a porsche that will be more fun and.. uhh, teach me more about cars... that it, its for my education), its fun to pull up in a porsche and watch their jaws drop.
Next up, convice pops that he needs a 930 to replace the 911S his brother wrecked back in the good ole days.
Just be carefull young ones, although I regret the fun I missed out on in not getting my 911 a few years sooner (than 44). Had I bought one in my 20s, as it turned out for me anyway, the lost opportunity cost would have been in the seven figure range.
25 for my first- a 914/6; then college, residency, etc... 15 years later, my first real Porsche '96 C4S, then '98 Cab, '01 Turbo, '03 Boxster, '04 Turbo Cayenne, '04 C4S Cab. I'm a big Porsche fan and it really is the ultimate car if you enjoy cars and driving. Fortunately, my wife likes cars too.
jeff 25 is right
a little balance now can save you big in the future!
...but its so damn fun now!
i wonder if the pure smile power i get now is going be worth the $$$ i'll not
have in the future?!?!
I keep telling myself that a little old c2 cab is consistent with my income level and a new 360 modena...now that would be excessive!
33 for me, however in my heart I owned one already @ age 20 or even younger
The right time is when you can afford to buy the car, maintain it and fly it from and to work...
