The key is not to use too much at a time, apply it and work it in with a small brush such as a kitchen potato cleaning bush, and then use your wet/dry vacuum to suck up the excess liquid, and then blot it dry with a microfibre towel.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone direct me to a product that will "dry-clean" the fabric inside my Cabriolet on the roll over protection bumpers? Most fabric cleaners require water to rinse off and this would be impossible. HELP????

POST 2Original post

I just used the turtle wax upholstery cleaner with the plastic brush on it. I was really skeptical at first as I never had used that type of product but the results speak for themselves. Just go with the grain and it come out easier.

POST 3Original post

I have cleaned that part of the car with a liquid cleaner such as Fantastic" and the Porsche fabric top cleaner. The key is not to use too much at a time, apply it and work it in with a small brush such as a kitchen potato cleaning bush, and then use your wet/dry vacuum to suck up the excess liquid, and then blot it dry with a microfibre towel. This method works great for me. Be sure to pay attention to the leading edge of th cover that is where most of the "top-down" gunk accumulates. And if you are still feeling wussy, and don't want to get any cleaner down the sides, then pop the 2 covers for the roll bars, and there are 2 screws that hold the entire top cover in place. Take the cover off and blast it with a pressure washer to get it looking like new.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there any trick to "popping off" the covers??

POST 5Original post

No trick, just stick a screwdriver under the front side and pop up. You will see the screws that hold it down on the outboard side of the cover.

POST 6Original post

fantastic is cool as it is mild. it is the only thing that is recommended for cleaning the car covers so it won't strip the protective chemicals on them btw. I just randomly used that interior cleaner on my mom's car light beige interior and again on my friend's clk same light beige and was pretty impressed with the results with minimal effort.
