Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I sold a 63 split window corvette a couple of years ago that I had the CLEAR BRA on and it worked out great for keeping the front end of the car free of rock chips.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Me, I love taking factory parts and upgrading my interior. I recently found ebay.de again and found a guy parting out a GT3 which had a real full leather interior. I have a bunch of black leather parts on their way to be retrofitted into my grey interior. I have also bought a few other parts from the states. Grey Alcantara Headliner Full leather parking brake handle with Porsche insignia Full leather center console in black Leather switch surround for sunroof and interior lights in black Leather window triangles in black Leather defroster vents in black Column switch with trip computer, also bought the wiring harness Some other bits that I probably forgot about What I am looking for is a radio/horseshoe surround and the air vents in black leather or carbon fiber and leather. Also want the three horizontal pieces on the lower dash, don't know what I will get just yet, they look like a bitch to replace. If anybody has some leads on the air vents or radio surround, I'm all ears.

Great avatar! You're on your way to being a favorite poster around here, Paul. TC

I'm getting the front bumper repainted next week. After it cures about a month I'll have CLEAR BRA put over it. I sold a 63 split window corvette a couple of years ago that I had the CLEAR BRA on and it worked out great for keeping the front end of the car free of rock chips. I live in Vegas and drive to Los Angeles often. Its all high speed freeway open highway driving. Many trucks are on that stretch and they throw up little bits of stuff that eventually will chip the paint.

POST 4Original post

I have H&R springs and Eibach sway bars waiting to get installed. Looking for struts over the winter to finish it off. Then it will be the end of the mods for this one....well maybe LED tail lights as I hate the Orange.

5CN3LL: You get all the credit! You need to work at Pixar! Thanks!

POST 7Original post

I'm getting a door ding removed and leather scratches fixed tomorrow. I hope to be opening Arctic silver bumperettes and 997 SSK for Christmas. After that...H&R springs and then buy a TT.

POST 9Original post

JD ARTHUR, your first mod should be take another picture of the car. You posted same picture 20 times or so.....

You took my idea (that the microscope looked like a Pixar character) and added artwork. I want partial credit or you shall hear from my lawyer!

POST 11Original post

Still deciding between the Shaving cream mod or buckwheat mod. Maybe I should start a thread and see if it can get to at least 10 pages. hmmmm....

POST 12Original post

I found myself in an odd position with my car. I generally do quite a bit of modding to "make it my own". The one I bought already had every mod I would have done and some I would have wanted to do but not been willing to spend the money.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Come to Papa! Got the first piece as part of the "interior refresh". The carbon fiber is NICE! I think it will look great against my grey leather. The rest of the instrument cluster leather is pretty trashed, the glue has come undone. Was thinking if somebody wants it here, I would sell it for $50 shipped.....but just might keep it in case something needs a little black leather. I have to say that the ebay vendor qualityporscheparts ROCKS! You wouldn't believe how good they package everything.

POST 15Original post

Make sure you regularly apply some sort if uv sealant or wax else it may yellow and/or crack over time unless your windows are tinted.

POST 16Original post

Fister D muffler mod is on my short list. Other than that, just minor repairs and maintenance..

POST 17Original post

I will probably uninstall my underdrive pulley - I'm not tracking the 996 nearly as much as I'd planned (due to paint paranoia), and I'd like to get my alternator going full-speed again. If anyone wants to trade a stock crank pulley for a Tarrett underdrive pulley, PM pls. I will probably hack my mufflers, now that I'm running stock cans. Otherwise, just upkeep. It's already "done."

POST 18Original post

Newbie here..first mod and first repair...mod was removing the cd drawers (free for the asking) and replacing with the open tray and then repairing the leaking display on the HVAC control unit. Went very easily and major props to 914rubber.com for selling the replacement part with great instructions. Next on the list is fixing a rip in the bottom of the drivers seat.

I don't think that will be an issue as once I have these mods in place I do not plan to take the car out of the garage any longer.

+1 to those guys. They are good place for sourcing low mileage parts.

Only mod I have planned is the auto dimming rearview mirror with homelink.
