Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While there are many around, finding one that met all my requirements (within 500 miles, service records, PSM etc.) proved to be entertaining.
Leading evidence: 'entertaining' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'entertaining' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check debris and sent a sample' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings,
I often enjoy the new guy introductions so I thought I would take a turn.
I have had a 2001 Boxster for three years. I've run a few DE's and really enjoyed the car. While I find the Boxster with the top down to be something special, I live in the Midwest and when I finally get a chance to drive it is often too hot or too cold to enjoy the top down (for me anyway) and thought it would be fine to have a standard coupe with a sunroof.
And 100 extra horsepower...
So I am now the proud new owner of a 2003 996 6M. I shopped for about 6 months and decided to get a 2002 2004 with a fairly common configuration. While there are many around, finding one that met all my requirements (within 500 miles, service records, PSM etc.) proved to be entertaining. I found that saving cars on the cars.com app allowed me to easily see which ones were selling and helped me get in sync with the market.
So I bought the car, drove it home (~450 miles) and have been working through the normal maintenance items:
Oil and filter (yes I checked for debris and sent a sample to Blackstone...)
Air filter
Belt
Transmission fluid
On my list:
Antifreeze change
Spark plugs
Water Pump
I also changed the motor mounts and it made a huge difference in engine vibration (thanks to the recommendation of this list).
So this has been fun and I look forward to participating in the 996 discussions. I don't post much but I sure appreciate the folks who do. I have certainly learned a lot.
Dan
The wheels in the second pic (in the xmas lights) are my track wheels from the Boxster. I put them on to see the difference between 18" PS2s and the 17" Continental DWS. The PS2s are not worn out but they are 5 years old and pretty hard.
Well, if you don't mind being around a bunch of 928s, this Saturday would be a great day to come out to the PCA breakfast. We have a group of Rennlisters from the 928 board who are meeting at the PCA breakfast, then heading over to the Kansas City Automotive Museum for a private tour and display and then on to Twin Peaks and possibly a garage condo after that. Here are the details:

Plus, since 3 of our board members drive 996s, museum policy is that anyone arriving in a 996 gets free admission to the museum. So, if you can fit it in your schedule, drag that beautiful new 996 out this Saturday!
