Having said that, I have the feeling it will not be long before you will be able to get a new 2004 for the same money since sales of 996's are not going very well and most enthusiasts know that the 2005 model will be significantly changed (i.e.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

HI everyone, This is my first post so please bare with me. If I'm breaking any rules let me know. I appologize in advance.
I'm a current 2001 986 owner and I have been bitten by the new 911 bug. the case is very serious and i dont think i will be able to make it for much longer if i dont get my 911 antidote.
All kidding aside. I need help finding a dealer that will sell me a 2003 911 for invoice price or very close to it. I know porsche dealers dont even have to entertain this thought but it cant hurt to ask around. I love my 2001 boxster but I recently drove 3 different 996 911s. from 99 to 03. all were exceptional rides. Now I having 911 envy. As such, I need a miracle. yes, I'm asking dealers to be kind and help an afflicted lover of the fine 996 acheive his dream.
Thanks for entertaining this ladies and gents.

car i want (need!): 2003 911 invoice or close to it. low options on the car. but not bare bones either.
Imposible? I hope not as I am determind to get one.
please contact me at your convinence.
Sergio... You should be able to buy a 911 for invoice probably less. I just bought mine for under invoice and I have Lapis blue, full supple grey graphite leather, Sport Classic wheels, Bose and a few other tidbits.
Where are you based? I live in So CA. If So CA is ok, I'd be willing to phone my sales guy and see what's available. They had to dealer trade for mine because I wanted Lapis Blue/Grey, etc.
You could look for an 02 in the $50's?
If you want new, you should be able to find a nicely optioned one for $65K to $70K + you get that Porsche incentive deal.
Titan, Thats awsome. Please , please, give your sales person my contact info (the sooner the better). As I'm ready to buy and have financing. Everyone please use this contact info if you now where I can get a 2003 at invoice.

too high i think invoice on an 03 is near 59k. I am determined and willing to do the leg work to get near this price. But, I just found out that I may not be able to use the Porsche owner loyalty discount incentive. As I am a second owner of the boxster. I called a lady named Heather at PCNA to see if she can make an exception on this rule. no call back yet.
Trojan, thats great!!! please tell me where. I live in Fort worth, Texas. and the local dealers are not willing to go invoice on their 03 stock. Let me know if you know who to buy from.
Sergio, I've looked a bit around So CA prior to buying my 911 C2 and nobody, I mean nobody had anything with an invoice price of 59k. All were over 79k with various options included. Maybe I miss understood your definition of invoice. Could it be your invoice means dealer cost?
Sorry, I mean real invoice price (avg. starting 59.8k). I guess what it costs the dealer to buy it. versus dealer msrp (avg. starting 68.6k). I know some one out there can do this. Just have to find the right dealer looking to move some 03s.
Sergio
I spoke with my guy and he hasn't heard of any dealerships ordering Carrera's stripped of options and selling that low. I guess you can hope to find a dealership in financial trouble forcing them to dump their inventory...who knows
Never knew Porsche to discount like GM does. Good Luck!
Serg, I live in L.A., so I'm not sure if dealers here sell new vehicles out of state (I know that mercedes is supposedly prohibited from doing so), but if they can, Bruno @ Beverly Hills Porsche is the way to go. [phone removed]. Tell him Ryan Gaytan referred you.
Good Luck!
Serg,
I think it will be very difficult to find a 2003 C2 with no options, becuase that is what it would take to get to your $59k number. A more realistic approach is to look for a lightly optioned C2 maybe in the range of $75-76k. Invoice will be around $64-65k + your incentive(if you get it). Check out

If you find anything that peaks your interest, I will put you in contact with a guy there. Good luck and PM me if you find anything you like.

Lou,
I just sent you a pm (w/more details) per your request. just fyi though I am scouring the nation for deals on 03s. lowest i have found was 62k for a new 03 911 with decent options. thats my car if i cant find any lower elsewhere. and i have talked to rizza by the way. they have some good cars.
I don't know if New York City is too far for you, but Manhattan Motor Cars, which has one of the larger monthly allocations, had a lot of inventory when I was in there a few weeks ago to get a part. Call Evan and see what he has and if he's willing to deal.
Thanks fellas!! Please keep them corning. Haven't found her yet but I'm not even close to giving up. Believe me when I tell you I am calling everyone you recommend.
sergio-try michael schwartz at schneider-nelson porsche in nj [phone removed]. he is the gen manager. i have bought several 911's from him. i can guarantee you that at the very least, he will tell you whether you have any chance in accomplishing your goal, and if not, he can advise you what to do. at the most, he may have a car for you. tell him that i sent you. good luck.
Trackman,
Thanks I have allready been there and its a good site. I called that dealer. They are not even close to the best deals I have found. I'm doing alot of research. Which I think will benefit everyone else on the board once I achieve my goal. Either way thanks again and keep the tips comming.
Sergio,
I too tried the Autospies route but got a price of about $67k for a nicely optioned new '03 911. That is just not good enough in this market. I think that $62k number you got for a new '03 seems like the best you are going to do. If the color is right, I would say go for that one if it's a 2003 that you want.
Having said that, I have the feeling it will not be long before you will be able to get a new 2004 for the same money since sales of 996's are not going very well and most enthusiasts know that the 2005 model will be significantly changed (i.e. 997). I say wait until December and get a new 2004 for low 60's and own the last year for the 996 body style.
As much as I love the 911's, I honestly feel that the 996 will become the least collectible 911 (with exception of the GT2 and GT3). This is unfortunate because they are great cars. But the styling is too close the Boxster and there were just too many built.
Just my .02
