Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But, in the even that they need to replace the fairing, I'm wondering if it makes sense to upgrade to one with an aero look.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I parked my car on the street the other night at a friend's. Couple of hours later I hear the alarm going off. Seems a kid had gently brushed into the front quarter panel area while backing up. I waxed the damage, and got a lot of the rubbed-in damage out, but unfortunately it seems as though the front plastic fairing is cracked (hairline cracks around the light). Too bad for the kid that hit the car, since from 2 feet away you can't see anything, but from 1 foot away you really can tell. I'm going to try to get the damage fixed as inexpensively as possible so he doesn't have to have his insurance rates go up. But, in the even that they need to replace the fairing, I'm wondering if it makes sense to upgrade to one with an aero look. Does anyone here have experience in accident claims upgrading or modifying the body? Would a reputable body shop even do this (if I paid the difference)? Let me knnow your thoughts, thanks...
