Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am very, very close to trading in my fantastic Seal Grey Boxster (2001, 26k miles) for an '03 C2 cab (Triple black), and thought I would ask Cab owners what their recommendations are. Your thoughts are appreciated. YoungTurk '01 SEG/BK/BK

POST 2Original post

turk-you are going to love the cab. think of it as %140 of a boxster. it has more power, room, etc.

POST 4Original post

Hey YoungTurk, the Cab is fantastic! You can option to your liking, but be sure and get the windscreen. With that and the windows up the air barely moves in the cockpit....good for women who don't like their hair mussed up (by the wind)! Another plus is the look of the car with the hardtop on. It's a unique look....definitely a Porsche with a different profile. And with the h'top on you in effect have a coupe. Also, with either top up you can open all 4 windows..much better than a coupe in that regard.

POST 5Original post

Hi Turk, I just purchased an '03 Cab Tip 2 weeks ago. I previously owned a '98 Boxster. I love having more power and room inside the car. These both outway not having the extra trunk. I still have not taken the car to the twisties for some fast driving, but in the short amount of time I have had the car, I have noticed that the balance may not be as "perfect" as it is in the Boxster. The build seems to be much better than my retired '98. If money is not an issue, the cab is a great car. If it is, the Boxster S is hard to beat for price. Good Luck!

POST 6Original post

Love the car. But the light gray softtop is prone to stain, and it shows creases. I'd never get a light colored softtop again.

POST 7Original post

The cab is what started my obsession with P-cars! It is the most fund and versatile of cars. I love it for driving around the city and is my favorite. If you track your car then, you probably don't want a cab. Get it and don't look back. The cab puts a smile on my face and makes me grateful for what I have as soon as I lower the top!

POST 8Original post

Carrerra 4 Cab Do it! awesome handling and balanced power

POST 9Original post

Without doubt, you will not regret it. With the cab you get all options: top down, top up, and hard top on (coupe). Suggest a dark coloured top though.

POST 10Original post

I actually went to my local Porsche dealer to buy a Boxster S...after test driving it I was left bored and uninspired. I asked to test drive a used C2 Cab figuring that the cost would be the same. I was incredibly thrilled with the cab...it was exactly what I was looking for. I decided to buy a new one and now I am addicted to driving it. While trying to temper the amount of times I drive it, I still have put 1200 miles on it in three weeks! In my opinion you would be cheating yourself if you never owned one of these cars.

POST 11Original post

Man, I am dying.....just sitting here waiting till 9/27 for delivery of my c4s cab. Its torture I tell you, its torture!!! Go for the cab.

POST 12Original post

This is my 2nd cab and I love it!! I got it very heavily optioned and I could have gotten a TT for the same price, but I love top down motoring, so I went for the cab. Even on track, it is superior because you can hear better and see better with the top down. Most tracks allow you to run with the top down because the car comes with "automatic roll over protection". Yes, it's heavier than the coupe, but still a balst to own and drive!

POST 13Original post

A Cab feeds more of one's senses. Changes in the temperature caused by elevation or bodies of water. The smell of open fields and restaurant kitchens. And the sounds; especially those coming from from directly behind you! For a daily driver, I highly recommend it.

POST 14Original post

Great fun! The boxster is fun, but I went for the Carrera primarily because the back seats are just fine for my 2 kids.

POST 17Original post

I love my cab more and more every time I drive it...depending on where you live and how you drive it you might want the C4...regardless get PSM (std on C4's). Other than that the rest of toys are your choice...
