I rarely used my boxster hardtop, but the 996 hardtop looks great on the car, unlike the boxster.

BTW, since you're in San Diego as well, how often did you use your hardtop?

Does anyone know if a '99 hardtop will fit my '03 cab? Also, did a search on ebay for hardtops, but could not find any. Any idea what I should offer for a used hardtop off a '99 owner?

There are several tops on ebay...search for 'porsche hardtop' or '... hard top' The hardtops for all 996s should be inter-changeable, from what I've seen, also asked a dealer, but you never can be sure if they have a clue or not. As far as price...you can get them for 600-700 on ebay...some people ask upwards of 1200, but that is robbery...
Hi, I am looking for a lapis blue top with grey int. Found one on ebay but seller stated that tops may not be interchangeable. 2001-2002 top requires adapter kit to fit 2003-2004 models. No one seems to be absolutely sure about this.
I had a hardtop for my 2000 cab that I forgot to install prior to dropping off the 2000 to pick up my 2003 cab. I put the 2000 hard top on my 2003 to drop it at the dealer and it fit fine. BTW I still have my wall mount for the hardtop if you need it.

I actually have a wall mount from my boxster hardtop. I think it works for either cars. BTW, since you're in San Diego as well, how often did you use your hardtop? I rarely used my boxster hardtop, but the 996 hardtop looks great on the car, unlike the boxster.

I had my hard top on once in 3 years. When I ordered my 03 I deleted the hardtop since we now have a glass rear window. Let me know if your hardtop mount doesn't work as mine is just sitting in the garage.

facelifted is the model is the MY02 onward. The hardtops are all the same, they attach the same way regardless of 996 model year, so '99 to '04 all the same hardtop.
