Does anyone have advice for dealing with an intermittent buzz/rattle (comes and goes based on speed and pavement) that seems to be coming from the upper passenger door on my new C4S? Its only there with the window up. I took the car into the closest dealer (200 miles away). First they "worked on" the wrong door, proclaiming it fixed (new window controller, and they stuffed "sticky stuff" along the wires, etc.). After I returned, they "worked" on the correct door. It seemed to stop the sound for 100 miles (half way home). I'm not anxious to make the long drive again without some strategy. Rennlist has been a fantastic resource. This is my first post. Thanks for welcoming a newbie.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi and welcome to RENNLIST! Is it more like a high vibration buzz or a rattle like some part is loose? I assume when you say upper passenger door I assume you mean near the sill or is it near the top frame of the door. If someone rode with you could they pinpoint the noise better?
Yes, in the upper part of the door below the sill, not the upper frame. I think a high vibration buzz is accurate. It doesn't sound as if something is loose or banging around in there...just like two pieces are vibrating against one another. I will have someone do the ride thing.
make sure that you are diagnosing correctly. i have an intermittant buzz/rattle coming from my sunroof on the passenger side that at first i thought was the door or window. it could be that this noise is actually what you are hearing. suggest, to test accuracy, open, partially open, and clsoe sunroof, and see if your noise goes away.
If it is your door, there is a 7 page TSB that gives troubleshooting tips to your dealer to solve a number of door noises issues. Your dealer should be able to use this to do your warranty repair.
Prestige has a great service dept.
Pretty easy fix. Let them remove the door panel and they will lay in some sticky fuzzy layers of cloth that will dampen any noise. Standard Operating Procedure.
