When I responded to the DoubleNutz post about installing a gun rack in the back window of his C4 I used the words "occupation requires".

i had a similiar experiance with a Z06 yesterday, except we where on a pretty deserted stretch of road and he pulled up beside me and and pointed as if to say go, so we went and suprisenly i pulled away from him easily from about an 80mph start, we stopped about 160 as i was about 7 car lengths ahead, and the slk32 amg is heavier than our cars and it only cost 53k brand new, and it will run our cars from a dead stop, but not at highway speeds, remember it is limited way before it hits the limiter of 155

The funny thing is that his plate read "349 HP" I was thinking either he is too proud of his car that even though I caught up he was impressed or he was upset his 349hp still can't give a porsche owner some run for the money.

I was driving down the highway and saw a hotshot SLK32 AMG who was obviously trying to test his car's speed when I was trying to pass him up just in a hurry to my office going 80mph he was 4 car lengths ahead and as I gradually increase speed to pass he keeps speeding up.

i measure it with a gps satilite link that i was testing for work, which it also told me my speedo is off by 4mph at 80, and that would be exactly my point you where trying make so freshly, in cars that are so very close in performance, it only takes 1 misque in either case to get your doors "blown off"
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am done peeing my pant's with laughter now but, I am still having a hard time believing this guy actually owns a Porsche of any type.
I was driving down the highway and saw a hotshot SLK32 AMG who was obviously trying to test his car's speed when I was trying to pass him up just in a hurry to my office going 80mph he was 4 car lengths ahead and as I gradually increase speed to pass he keeps speeding up.
I said fine, downshift to 3rd at 85mph, up to 100mph in fourth he's down to 3 car lengths, and when I upshifted to 4th at 100mph to 120mph I pull to 1 car length distance between us and either my car was getting too fast and he gave up or he really had to exit. The way I pulled up to him impressed me because I thought he was supposed to win and I was actually scared I would get humiliated.
He had his top down at these speeds, you think that made a big difference?
The funny thing is that his plate read "349 HP" I was thinking either he is too proud of his car that even though I caught up he was impressed or he was upset his 349hp still can't give a porsche owner some run for the money. I don't think its a run for the money anyway cuz its also a car around 70k.
i had a similiar experiance with a Z06 yesterday, except we where on a pretty deserted stretch of road and he pulled up beside me and and pointed as if to say go, so we went and suprisenly i pulled away from him easily from about an 80mph start, we stopped about 160 as i was about 7 car lengths ahead, and the slk32 amg is heavier than our cars and it only cost 53k brand new, and it will run our cars from a dead stop, but not at highway speeds, remember it is limited way before it hits the limiter of 155
lom,
i know it was bad, but then there was nobody on the road for about a mile and it was a stretch that goes for 4 with no turns. believe me i didnt want to race him but its like swatting a fly that keeps buzzing around your ear as he kept speeding up when i tried to pass him.
i figured people drive 100+mph on the autobahn everyday, all weather conditions and traffic conditions were giving a green light. I don't condone street racing when its dangerous
well zam since they are so closely matched on paper it would seem to me that it would be close either way, and i drove 3 z06 before i bought my 99 and i can tell you that there is very little diffrence so destroy is never going to happen stock v stock, ive raced an svt cobra 03 with many mods and i pulled on him as well, i beat him in the 1/4 by about 3 inches but after that i was pulling away noticably, and if you don't know already ill tell ya, the new svt cobra can beat a z06
The latest Z06 is rated at 405 HP and is not available as a convertible.
Once again I've got to voice my objection to posts condoning or participating in street races. Sorry, but no street race is safe.
Locally, two guys just got sentenced to six and nine years in prison respectively for killing two passengers and putting a third into a wheelchair for life when one of the racers t-boned an innocent motorist. The two racers said they never dreamed anything would happen. The guy who didn't collide left the scene and he's the one who got the nine years.
The D.A. prosecuted for second degree murder but the jury wimped out and went for manslaughter. The clown who hit the other car said he was sorry, but he was also glad to have his life back after being found not guilty of murder.
I'd like to see this forum formally adopt a policy prohibiting race or "kill" stories, or failing that, have the users adopt an informal policy that we don't submit such stuff.
Tell us about your exploits on the track or the dragstrip, not the stoplight grand prix.
well i agree most of the time street racing is very unsafe for all involved, but most of us don't exactly have a place to just go and give the car hell short of traveling 1000 miles and paying some ungodly fee, i was watching the news about street racing here in dallas and they said they where going to put a stop to it, but thinking out loud here, that will never happen unless they start opening up small tracks and such everywhere so people can take their cars to do some horsing around
"well i agree most of the time street racing is very unsafe for all involved, but most of us don't exactly have a place to just go and give the car hell short of traveling 1000 miles and paying some ungodly fee."
Well, that's just too effing bad.
So, because tracks are too expensive you feel justified in doing your little street racing gig?
Very weak dude. Let me know when your going to be on the road so I can stay home.
NiveK,
Your 996 doesn't stand a chance against an '03 cobra or Vette Z06, sorry but I call BS. If the 996TT guys are worried about Z06's, do you really think an an n/a 996 can stand a chance?
its not what i think man its what i know to be a fact, my next door neighbor and friend has the cobra im talking about, and i doubt a 200mph tt porsche is worried about a 170mph z06
and as for you cmoss, your the exact reason people street race, because of people with that attitude of too ffn bad people try and stop what they can't instead of finding a viable solution such as offering them a place to go and do things of this nature, so you let me know when your on the road so i can get by your 45mph in a 75mph zone driving self
this is a four lane freeway...why would i try passing him up if i was directly behind him?
Its easy to lecture someone without knowing the full scope of the situation. I assure you I wouldn't drive over 100mph if it was dangerous. Do you go 75mph when the speed limit is 65mph? My driving 120mph on an empty highway is much safer than a 80 year old going 65mph in moderate traffic. What happened with the recent oldtimer who ran through a crowded marketplace last week? Or a few years ago a senile geezer who ran over a lady walking across the street and he didn't even know it. The police came over to him, did an interview. He was so out of it a tv news reporter asked him who the president was he said Henry Kissinger.
I know you guys are trying to teach responsibility, but how many times has smokers always said they won't smoke another cigarette? Racing is also like an addition some cannot avoid at all times. I'm like a occational smoker, only outdoors away from the kids and away from a campfire. Most smokers agree smoking is bad for your health, but do all of them quit? Oh, but street racing is illegal, then lets ask the same to those who smoke grass too or take white lines up the straw.
All you people who don't condone street racing just don't bother clicking on the post, and if you do click on the post, read it and don't respond with the whole "street racing is bad, XXX could happen if YYY occurs". Everyone and their mom knows it's illegal and innocent people can get hurt, but if someone has a story to tell you don't need to rain on their parade. Most everyone here is a responsible adult and if you're on the freeway at night and want to open it up with someone else with nobody around and "jeopardize" your own life, that's your own business, not anyone elses on the internet.
adrial, way to be blunt about what I said
Some facts:
Chevrolet Corvette Z06:
(Source = Motortrend November '02 issue)
Horsepower: 405@6000rpm
Torque: 400 lb/ft @ 4800rpm
curb weight: 3118lbs
7.7lbs / hp
0-60: 4.6 seconds
1/4 mile: 12.85 @ 114.36
60-0: 108 feet
1999 Porsche 996:
Source = back of Mototrend March 1998 Issue)
Horsepower: 300@6800
Torque: 258 lb/ft @ 4600
Curb weight (manual trans): 2910lbs
9.7 lbs/hp
0-60 5.0 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.5 @ 103
60-0 for carrera 4 & cab(couldn't find easy enough for '99): 114-115 feet
Numbers dont lie, a n/a 996 especially without the X51 package or being a 3.6L isn't packing much heat in the acceleration department. I'm not bashing it as a car, its a great car...just not an acceleration king.
And just for ****s and giggles...
'01 Porsche 996TT
0-60: 3.9secs
1/4 mile: 11.9@116.0
60-0: 116 feet
So, we have the 996TT accelerating out of the hole a hell of a lot quicker than the Z06 thanks to an extremely aggressive AWD launch....but once power comes into play, the 996TT isn't walking away quite so easily as is seen by the ~1.6mph difference in trap speed.
NiveK: You bought the car, you can afford the track time.
Zamirz: He put it out there. If someone does an a@@hole thing and brags about it, hell yes I'll slap them down. Such posts reflect badly on all of us, and some of us care.
zamirz,
thanks for the rationalization about all this street racing stuff. honestly i posted this whole thing because i wanted to open discussion about how these cars compare to other cars. I do infact use to race at Sears point and Thunderhill, but how often do you get to chose which car to pair up to? Its not about driving skills at all times, sometimes its about what tools you have.
I felt it necessary to open comparison vs. the other makes since that's one of the reason's we're all here, not to be good granny two shoes that just start arguments about what's right and wrong.
One time I even was racing a CHP with my ML from a toll booth and when I realized it was a cop I slowed down, and he looked at me and started laughing and let me go...The point of all that, everyone has to have fun at least once in a while. Just remember, comedy can turn into tragedy.
i think you are missing the point cmoss, like ruey said and i will reitterate here, i would never race anyone with any other cars on the road in such a manner, i just happen to live where a very nice 6 lane highway is all but deserted at just about all hours of the day, so it leads to some horseplay on my part, but another thing is, those who street race in their ricers or minivans aren't likely to be able to afford the money on tracking at the current rates, therefore their view might be "if you guys are saying f me because i can't afford to go to your track then i say f you and ill race on the streets"
and for your info adrial many tests on the z06 have been performed by alot of magazines and automakers as well and same with the porsche, which i have a diffrent set of numbers for than you but not far off, and the fact is numbers don't mean anything when the gears and grinding and the race starts, i have a bmw z3 coupe with a 2.8 193hp engine that the magazines and stats say is 6.6 0-62 and 14.4 in the 1/4, but yet consistantly while stock it pulled 5.2 0-62 and a 13.9 1/4 so go figure that one out
I have to say I agree with Adrial - I think the Z06 has the block to get the job done vs. the C2.
Pretty sure the TT isn't a 200mph car either (though close enough for the test drivers who may get up in those realms).
Let's not get into the $$ for performance conversation eh?
i measure it with a gps satilite link that i was testing for work, which it also told me my speedo is off by 4mph at 80, and that would be exactly my point you where trying make so freshly, in cars that are so very close in performance, it only takes 1 misque in either case to get your doors "blown off"
Whoever said it, SVT Cobra CANNOT beat the Z06.. but it will sure make it a good race depending on driver.
Cobra is more in the same league speedwise as 911, M3, C32 AMG, etc.
Z06 is with Viper, 911TT, etc.

GPS is possibly the WORST instrument for measuring 0-60 times.
GPS time ... right on the nose, GPS position {depending on the day} pretty good, GPS average speed ... very good {especially for high average speed}, GPS INSTANTANEOUS SPEED ... HORRIBLE!
GPS measures speed indirectly and it reports average NOT instantaneous speed. AND the report of the average speed is slow, so by the time a GPS tells you you are going 60 ... you may be doing 100 {especially if you are in a TT }.
pete im not using a gps you buy in the store, im using my software and hardware and yes it can instantaniously measure any movement and its very accurate, the public however gets a dumbed down version because of the complexity as well as the bandwidth that it would consume if it where to run at full capacity
yes GPS can be good if you have the right technology. Imagine we use GPS to launch missles that travel at mach speeds. It is also used to radar incoming bogies.
WOOO, how long has this guy been a member of Rennlist????
"KILL STORIES..."
"ADOPT POLICY..."
Can you say "censorship... next will be a topic like gun control on the rennlist. I can see it now "car control"
Hmmmm, actually that gives me an idea... think I'm gonna go put my gun rack in the back window of my C4 coupe.
Long enough to have formed the opinion that street racing sucks and stories about engaging in it or condoning it are better left unsaid.
A Corvette site had a forum devoted to "kill" stories. They posted a funky little disclaimer about not condoning street racing, but the vast majority of posts were exactly that and got progressively more outrageous ("killed 5 Mustangs tonight", "Viper goes down", "smoked a Porsche"). They had guys talking about going out on the street for no other purpose than to find somebody to race, taking part in multiple races with multiple opponents in a single outing, speeds in excess of 160, videos , etc. The moderators ultimately disabled that particular forum. They may not have been able to say "censorship", but I bet they could say "liability" or perhaps "responsibility".
And I understand that nothing even remotely approaching that level of insanity goes on in here at present. A long journey begins with a single step and it's simply my opinion we shouldn't take that step. Your mileage may vary.
Personally, I carry my sidearm in the glove compartment or under the front seat if I'm in a particularly seedy environment. He's equipped with a laser aiming device so I don't have to necessarily come to eye level if an aimed shot is called for. I like to refer to it as a Porsche Retention Tool (or Honda Retention Tool if I'm in the commuter car). And before anyone tries to play the double standard card, my occupation calls for me to be armed on duty and off.......
I guess that means we should CENSOR all communication about any level of modification, performance increases, etc. Because, that is where you will take this next after you increase the FUD (fear, uncertainy, and doubt) factor for this list. Hey pal you just kicked the door open...so our Rennlist can go the way of that Corvette list you mentioned (I bet you were a memeber when you drove your Corvette, now you drive a Porsche so you're here... that's just great).
GEEESUS H Krist if its not one thing, its another. I bet you're a real fun guy... a law enforcement officer with a Porsche (hmmm go figure that) who now wants to create an enviroment where he can enforce laws in cyber space about the content we share with each other... Heck for all you know the guy probably raced that SLK32 in his dreams! But you are here to threaten this board with not havng the freedom to share his dreams.
For the record, I grew up in a family of Law Enforcement and Proscuting Att'ys in NYC and I know for a fact that they are the biggest abusers of speed laws becuase you guys just- "tip a little tin"... what a hippocrit... for crying out loud YOU DRIVE A PORSCHE...you should have saved yourself the money and purchased a Hyundai...
indeed, i work in and around law enforcemant officers as well as have many friends that are or where including my next door neighbor who is and wanted a "fast ride" in my porsche, and not only are they big hipocrits when it comes to speeding, but most of them have that "i have a gun and the law is always on my side" syndrom
Reg user with 16 posts and already telling the forum what policies to adopt
We love the forum just how it is, were we enjoy speaking our minds on ALL Porsche related subjects as long as its with respect, thank you.
Alright, well I'm a 944 guy, aligned on a different spectrum with some of you guys here on this board, but that being said, I just wanted to offer up a few things on this thread.
First off, operating an automobile is quite possibly one of the most dangerous things that our collective population regularly participates in. Secondly, the population of this board is basically all driver enthusiasts, who appreciate the value of our cars as vehicles and performers.
Now to get to the point here: street racing and its evils. 2 questions to those who so religiously object to street racing:
-How did you drive when you were a kid/younger? How different is that from today? More mature, more controlled, more skilled, something else?
-What is the catalyst for all of this anti-street racing trend recently? 2 words: Fast, and Furious, so we're basically talking rice and stoplight racing. We don't own a whole lot of rice here, so we'll go with stoplight racing and outline a few obvious responses here:
-don't race on public roads, stupid and immature
*so you drive your Porsche at the speed limit all the time eh?
-take your Porsche to the track
*costs too much money, too far away
-you bought a Porsche, you can afford it (pretty sweeping generalization there, but whatever)
Having fun on the highways and on the backroads is different from stoplight racing, just because it's an entirely different animal. I'd rank highway "fun" as the safest of the 3 but that's irrelevant. Accidents don't just happen, they are caused by something - the new Porsche owner who recently got killed in CA was in too much traffic and exceeded his limits. I just don't see how the people who criticize a guy who enjoys checking out how his Porsche matchs up against someone else's high performance car, actually drive their own Porsches. Do you restrict the use of your car solely to the track? Then fine.
And on a side note - how the @#$@ is bragging about you owning a gun and willing to use it different from some guy who, heaven forbid, pushed his Porsche to triple digit speeds?
I just HAVE to say this. Any one who refer's to his gun as a *HE*, as in "He's equipped with a laser" is pretty much a boob.
YOu get into an accident, and are knocked on conscious. Someone comes to "look see", and sees the gun.
I don't care if you are law or not (especially with the complete and utter abuse of power in San Diego) -
Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.
lol...i had to laugh about that one.
I have nothing against Lom (you have valid points) but I know my limits and dangers. I think carrying a gun in your car is worse and even more irresponsible...how many stolen guns are on the street because people don't carry them in secure places. My dad had a 357 revolver that was stolen from his office in a burglary, and the gun was found 2 years later in Oakland when a suspect was arrested for drugs and possession of stolen firearms.
Supposedly 2 people died from that gun according to balistics. Most gangsters and people willing to use firearms relentlessly carry stolen guns. The chance that gun will get stolen and used in the wrong way more likely than my street racing for 1 minute 80mph to 120mph. With that laser pointer, it will only make it easier for another copycat Malvo.
Holster your firearm if you want to carry it around. Maybe then if someone tries to steal it, you might be able to use it on them.
all this talk about being someone being a perfect saint and enforcers of the ultimate law.
i remember when my family priest saw my porsche, he told me a story of fast cars and one of his clients having him bless his new ferrari then they took it going 120mph down a 45mph blvd.

You know, maybe someday Porsche (like Ferrari) will need to be more selective about who they sell their cars too becuase the liability for Porsche could go up dramatically if some person decides that Porsche built the car too fast and encouraged the driver to go out and kill people with speed.
In addition to earning your right and license to drive- when you purchase a Porsche you must present credentials and qualifications-
A) Are you a Cop? If so skip this questionairre and proceed immediately to the unholstering your gun, affix a laser, chamber a round- place in glove box and go speeding where you like- Remeber to "tip your tin" if you get pulled over becuase, "Cops don't get tickets when they speed" (this also helps with your insurance rates and saves Porsche on liability issues) .
B) If you are not a cop then-
Have you ever taken any car out and exceeded the speed limit?
Have you ever had a speeding ticket?
Are you sure you are not a Cop?
Would you enjoy talking about performance increases or modifications on Porsche?
Besides enjoying it have you ever had the urge to operate a performance or, any other vehicle, made to go faster than 10 miles over posted speed- limits above that posted limit?
Do you intend to street race this car and kill people with it?
Do you own a gun with a laser sight on it?
Cheerios or Corn Flakes?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions or would rather Corn Flakes than Cheerios - and once again you are absolutely postiviely certain you are not now or ever will be a Cop, YOU MAY NOT PURCHASE THIS CAR!
Geeesus H Krist the pc left simply has nothing to do but kill joy and make living free unbearable.

all this talk to ban even the mention of street racing on rennlist is way too extreme. now it makes me interested in knowing how old the people who post on these boards are, and how much of an enthusiast they really are. I would assume that the majority has no objection and are true fanatics.
I am more concerned that someone who is so stressed at even discussing street racing has a higher chance to get blood boiling over from the fast moving traffic cutting him off and suffer a heart attack behind the wheel of the porsche while going 50mph , plunge into a park in a fatal crash killing innocent people, then the bandits who ran from the border of Mexico into San Diego sees a nice laser equiped 9mm that falls out of the glove box. Now the wetbacks have a nice weapon they can sell to new bandits running from BCIS or what used to be INS.
FYI, I had a friend back in the BMW group with an E30 M3, raced a 3000GT on the freeway, dusted him to the dot, slowed down, when the cop came up, flashed his shield, the guy burned him again and never seen him again,,,lol...i think if that copper had his laser guided gat he would've took out the tires.

PS
I think I'll ask Racers group if they can make a chip that limits the porsche from going over 65mph. I would offer Lom the chip for free if he signs a contract that he would install it in his car. Anyone who is willing to put a donation into the pot just reply. I have $250 already in the pot. Let me know if anyone else is interested.
ooops sorrry did i miss anything? i was out racing with my neighbors cobra, he beat by a whole car length in the 1/4 of a mile and posted a 13.09 to my 13.19, actually it was parking lot racing at tms
I think we chased Lom away <grin>, or he's on duty, in which case be on the look out for a Sonny Crockett type cruising the streets of San Diego in a Porsche with a bubblegum rack on top. Actually, Rico Tubbs- is what this cat probably really looks like. He sounds like the type that would dress up in a cheap suit with a laser fitted shot gun in his lap
lol...and to thing i was inspired to buy a porsche when i saw wil smith in bad boys part 1 driving a porsche 964 turbo s 100mph+.
I thought I would be a copper one day and chase bad guys
my wife and i just bought a 2003 slk 32 amg, very sweeet car indeed, and just to see we ran them and my 996 beat it in the 1/4 by about 1 1/2 car lengths and was reallly starting to pull on it
DoubleNutz:
No, I'm still here. Was away from the computer for the weekend.
1. Didn't say I was a cop.
2. Registered Republican (and pretty much vote along party lines).
3. Never owned a Corvette. Never wanted one. I also browse
Ferrari sites but never owned one of them either.
4. What has number of posts got to do with anything?
Forum, right? A place for discussion? It is my opinion that street racing is not an appropriate topic and the moderators would be acting responsibly if they forbade such posts; the members would be acting responsibly if they didn't make such posts. Your opinion may (and does) vary. All well and good.
We both know this isn't a free speech/censorship issue, so don't try to play that card. Wasn't it Justice Holmes who said you can't yell fire in a crowded theater?
Geez... Just have to chime in here... A little background first: I'm a family man who has two retired P-Officers, a current state Trooper and a retired Fire Chief in the family...
Lomcevak, IMHO, your a (***************) to the uniform you wear. It is NOT your job to preach, teach, verbally discipline or otherwise espouse your "law enforcement" views to anyone. Your job, as paid for by us the taxpayers, is to enforce the laws of your district and those of your position. I also find your bragging of carrying firearms in your cars as hypocritical. I don't care that your a cop! Your ability to carry a sidearm is one given to you by us, your employer (the taxpayers and our representatives). Don't you dare "brag" about your "Porsche Retention Tool" to those you'd put in jail if we did the same thing...
If you'd like to create a web forum that censors those things you find offensive, your free to do so.
If you'd like to change the laws to force others to do the above, see your legislator (don't bother us with it).
Funny... The Trooper in the family openly discusses cops like you. Those on the high horse preaching to "the bad guys", never being written a ticket when pulled over by a fellow cop and the regular meetings to discuss performance (unwritten quotas)... Your certainly not perfect and neither is the community your part of. At least TRY to make an effort to be a professional...
Sorry John D... Had to do it after growing up in a family of professional cops...
ain't this great?
by far the most dangerous people on the highway are not the racers...but the overly conservative that are unaware of vehicle dynamics, braking distance timing, distance from other objects, etc.
i've driven over 1,000,000 miles in my life and all over the speedlimit unless a cop was directly clocking me or beside me. i've never come close to a wreck and i'll challenge any conservative driving weenie to skillfully control a vehicle in an emergency situation....just in case some some mom in a mini-van yanks over in front of someone cause she was unaware they were there....: )
Isn't that the truth! How many idiots driving well below the posted limit are stopped? How about the fools on the cell phone fluctuating between 10 below and 10 above as they chat endlessly? Or the soccer mom not using her directionals, pulling out in front of others, etc. while talking to the kids in back?... It goes on and on...
Eric - 17:
Didn't say I was a cop. When I responded to the DoubleNutz post about installing a gun rack in the back window of his C4 I used the words "occupation requires". In hindsight that should have been "occupation permits" (emphasis on" permits"). There are occupations in both the public and private sectors not involving law enforcement where possession of a firearm is lawful.
What I've done here is voice my opinion that the forum and /or the membership shouldn't explicitly or impliedly endorse street racing by making posts about it.
From that people have accused me of among other things, attacking free speech, supporting Hillary for president and, in the unkindest cut of all, having owned a Corvette. You used the words "preach, teach, verbally discipline or otherwise espouse your law enforcement views to anyone". I did none of that.
It's been enlightening to see how expressing an unpopular opinion is treated here - "don't bother us with it", "buzz off", etc. Funny thing about free speech - you can disagree with what someone says, but stifling it altogether isn't part of the equation. Some of you talk the talk, but you're not walking the walk.
That's it for me on this topic. You get the last word if you want it.
ok i am guilty to
yesterday i was cruising along with traffic at ~75 in the HOV lane and decided that was two slow, dropped it into third and passed slower traffic at 90 or so not realizing that I was being followed by HP!
I got pulled over and only got the ticket for 75 and not for the 90 i passed at. I was pissed b/c i got caught and actually told the cop that this would probably not affect the speeds at which i drive (stupid smart *** thing to say!) After i calmed down i started thinking about how dangerous these blasts of occasional speed are.
I am not saying i am resigned to posted speed limits all the time but what if when i was passing i hit a big piece of metal which shreaded my tire and sent me out of control into some innocent driver, killing them. I would feel like ****!
All I am saying people is that we are not alone and the faster we drive the more variables come into play and possibly (often ) more risk to ourselves and others!
I am not sure that owning a super powerful car entitles us to drive however we please whenever we please!. Track days are expensive but...so is a porsche!
Speed kills but I bet Pride kills more!
