Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'now more clear.)' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'now more clear.)' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Set 2 or something like' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Now I use seat memory button #3 to tilt both outside mirrors down about 5 degrees at night.

Maybe it happens to be associated with memory setting 2 or something like that...

Suggestion
Each factory ignition key has different digital codes so each key holder/driver can set individual memory "setups" upon unlocking the car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have yet to figure this one out. But, most of the time, when I unlock the car (02 turbo) the lumbar support re-inflates. I then have to bleed air from the lumbar support to get back to the setting that I prefer.
Is this a malfunction? Or is it supposed to re-inflate?
(BTW, I have successfully saved my settings in the memory. But, it does not seem to have any effect on the re-inflation issue.)
Thanks in advance,
I think, you may have different "setups" for your ignition key "unlock" memory feature, than your 1, 2, or 3rd memory button. Each factory ignition key has different digital codes so each key holder/driver can set individual memory "setups" upon unlocking the car.
My key has the red plastic slipover identifier and my wife's has the blue.
Ah. That could do it. So, if I set all three to the same seat position, perhaps that would cure the problem.
Unfortunately, since I bought the car preonwned, I have only one key. Maybe it happens to be associated with memory setting 2 or something like that...
I'll give that a try when I get the car back from EVO.

Sorry to be dense on this key thing... but, why are the keys 4, 5 etc?
I have attempted to save my seat settings with the key in place (pushing memory + the little key icon instead of a number).
Is there anything else to know about saving settings? Like, does the car have to be off? On but in neutral? That kind of thing? I can't find anything in the manual... Anything special that has to be done with the key when associated a memory setting with the key?
At this point, I wonder if it is just an electronic gremlin.
Well.
The buttons are quite clearly numbered. So they are, and shall always remain to be 1, 2, and 3.
If a "given" ignition key, say my red coded one, has the same digital code as one of the buttons, say #1 in my case, then using the key or the button would result in the seats mirrors, etc, returning to the same memory setting.
On the other hand, if the same digital code is NOT used, my "red" key does not equate to the #1 button, then the ignition keys must equate to, 4, 5, etc.
Okay?
I'll look at the manual tonight when I get home and find out.
I have this really vague memory about having to be something of a contortionist trying to depress the ignition key alarm button to set a "memory" while at the same time depressing one of the three actual memory buttons to "teach" the memory system that this particular ignition key's digital "code" equated to the memory button being depressed simultaneously.
Assigning my "red" key's code to button #1 memory settings.
TRUE??
Oh, I eliminated my automatic self-dimming driver's side mirror in favor of a european convex one. Now I use seat memory button #3 to tilt both outside mirrors down about 5 degrees at night. Everything else for #3 is set the same as my "saved" ignition key seat memory.
Make sense. Now, should the lumbar setting be re-inflating? The dealer told me that it should not even do that period in an 02. He claimed there was a problem with them over-inflating and that Porsche eliminated that feature in 01...
Needless to say, I'm confused! (But the button and remote issue is now more clear.)
Thanks!
Owners manual indicates you can have up to four keys, seat memory logically numbered 4, 5, 6, and 7.
The Key code does NOT equate to any of the buttons.
Gives you the capability of 7 individual seat memory setup.
And the lumbar position is a part of the seat memory.
My guess is that the ignition key you have was at one time used to set a seat memory and so each time you unlock the car everything goes to "that" position.
