Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at pulling the trigger on my first Porsche 996 tt. I am looking at a 2002 X50 w/12K miles. Its been modded a little and is blazing fast. I want to take it to at least 4 track weekends a year. Can this car, most importantly the engine, handle 2 days of high revving high lateral g punishment? I had a Z06 and ran it through its paces, however I always had the factory warranty right there and parts were cheaper. My concern is the toughness of the 3.6 tt engine.
Thanks for all your help!
+1 with Tim's suggestion. However,a couple of my track buddies have 02 TT's and up until know they have been super reliable. Mind you, they track anywhere from 10-14 events per year.
It's not the ideal track car, but you'll still have a blast. The engines are some of the best ever in a 911. They are bulletproof and were designed for racing.
What is the world coming to when someone feels the need to ask this kind of question? High revs and high G's were what these cars were made for. Those things are the reason Porsche's exist. Has the reputation been beaten down that badly?
OMFG, you're totally right!
This was actually one of the easier questions to answer I've ever seen on a Porsche forum.
To the OP, these are Porsches, this is what they are designed for!! Decades and decades of racing heritage!! There is NO substitute!!
..and to answer your last question, Porsche's reputation has *never* been better!!!
It's the same engine as the 996 GT2/GT3 - derived from the GT1/964....
It will be bullet proof if taken care of. Just be sure to get a thorough PPI before purchase, and ask for the ECU data. The ECU stores Type 1 & 2 overrevs for the 996 line of 911s. Type 1s are ignitions bouncing off the rev limiter, and Type 2s are when the rev limiter doesn't do anything b/c the rpms reached are off the charts (usually caused by the money shift from 5th to 2nd)... Type 1s indicate hard driving, so would raise my eyebrows a bit but not necessarily make me walk from the deal. Type 2s could indicate cause for a premature rebuild...
It is a phenomenal engine. You will certainly have fun. The 996TT IMHO is the perfect compromise between track and street....
Good luck!
