Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

4- disconnect the ball joint connecting the hub carrier to the lower control arm (this will allow you to move the shock and hub assembly enough to slide the shock up and out)
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect ball joint connecting the hub carrier' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect ball joint connecting the hub carrier' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Ok, let me try this way (we'll use a front for example):
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know if it is possible to install a complete M030 sport suspension (shocks, springs, anti-sway bars) on a 1999 996 without a lift (jack and ramps only)? Also, is a spring compressor required? I would like to install the suspension myself and then bring to dealer for alignment.
Thanks,
Greg
A lift does help but if you can raise the car on both sides (front axle then rear axle), you should be ok. As far as using a spring compressor, no you will not need it if you dissassemble the corners while they're still intact. I did this on my friend's Boxster S and it was pretty straight forward. Let me know if you need further instructions.
I got your message but when I tried to reply, I had too many characters. I'm attaching it here:
I understand that the springs and shocks are seperate. What I did was loosen the strut-top nut, allowing the shock to drop down when lifted. These springs can be wound/unwound onto their perches on the shocks. It's kind of hard to explain but believe me, I did this without a spring compressor. Ok, let me try this way (we'll use a front for example):
1- remove the top strut nut (under hood). Do not loosen the three strut top nuts surrounding the large 22mm central nut.
2- remove the front sway bar link bolt, loosening the strut carrier.
3- when the top nut is loosened right off and the car is raised, the spring will uncompress (very little tension) and at that point, simply "screw" it down onto the shock body.
4- disconnect the ball joint connecting the hub carrier to the lower control arm (this will allow you to move the shock and hub assembly enough to slide the shock up and out)
5- remove the shock and spring assembly out of the car (make sure that the bearing carrier and rubber gasket at the top oif the spring-top plate area do not fall on the ground
6- install the new shock into the hub carrier
7- "screw or thread" the new spring onto the shock so that it is not actually sitting on its perch but about halfway down on the shock body
8- screw the spring upwards until it sits in its proper seat and re-attach the top 22 mm nut (under the hood)
9- re-attach the ball joint and sway bar mount bolt and nut
10- repeat process for each corner
