Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They are happening now and the dealers dont seem to have the same deal mentality on used cars.

It might have something else, but that was what I saw during the test drive.

3- I don't think that you would regret getting a slightly used car that is almost new.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I've been lusting after a C4S for a while now, and I've finally gotten spousal permission to upgrade the '99 boxster. woohoo!
My local dealer has a an Artic Silver/Grey leather 2003 C4S with 630 miles! Options seem to include: Heated seats, white instrument dials, Bose stereo, supple leather, Aluminum gear shift and hand brake that I could tell. It might have something else, but that was what I saw during the test drive.
Car seems flawless inside an out with just a single tiny paint chip on the bumper. I can't believe what a different experience it is from the boxster, such a fantastic car!
Dealer is asking $81,900 but did not negotiate at all yet. New car MSRP seems to come in at 86K roughly with those options.
Questions:
1- What would a fair price for such a low mileage C4S be? I think I should be able to get it under 80K right?
2- Any options that I'll kick myself for not getting? Perusing Porsche's rather lengthy list, the only thing that I'd like is maybe some more silver trim on the dash, but I can always add that later.
3- I plan to keep this car for a long time. I had the boxster for 5 years, I'll probably have this one for at least as long if not longer. Is it dumb to get a used one? Seems in such good condition and such low mileage, why not save many thousands...
Anything else before I take the plunge?
Thanks!!
-Eric
1 - I dont know the C4S market but ... keep in mind that it is used and that the 04 C4Ss are either on the lot of soon to be on the lots
2) The option codes for this car are located under the hood. Many people seem to complain about not getting power seats, especially if they share the car.
3) I doubt that you would regret getting a lightly used car. HOWEVER, you can probably get the same deal (or better) on a new 03 end of year close out. They are happening now and the dealers dont seem to have the same deal mentality on used cars.
1- You should definitely be able to get it below $80K since the '04s are coming out already. I personally would push for low to mid $70's.
2- Options seem to be fine. Only other thing I would get is the Sport exhaust, but you can just add than on later.
3- I don't think that you would regret getting a slightly used car that is almost new. I bought my 4S earlier this year and it was slightly used as well. Like you said, I was able to save thousands!! My car had an MSRP of a little over $98K. Ended up buying it for $77K with 5K miles.
Best of luck!
Used with 650 miles??? Was this the dealer demo car? If so, then who knows how many times it was run through the gears during a 5 minute test drive. That would be my only concern, otherwise it sounds like a nice car. Good luck.
Thanks for all the help. The dealership is HBL of tysons in virginia and the salesman claims it was a trade in from a person who wanted more power and got a turbo instead. I did a carfax report on the car and indeed it shows it was bought by someone on 2/18/03 and re-inventoried by the dealership on 7/1/03 so on the surface it seems like the story the dealer fed me was correct.
Yes will definitely push for mid 70s and see what happens
I bought my new 03 c4s about 2 months ago. MSRP with options was $86.5 k, I got it for 80.5 with minimal bargaining (I'm not that good at it). So, with the 04's coming in, and being a used vehicle, anyting more than mid seventees is too much. ( I bet that if you bought a vehicle and returned it to a dealer with a few miles, you'll loose about 1/3 the value). So, 80k is obviously too much.
