Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I use on average 8 new sponge applicators just to polish and wax, micro fiber towels from Griots, you get the picture.

BTW, I disagree on keeping yellow clean, seems very easy to me as compared to black or any darker color and honestly just about as easy as silver IMHO.

I have had the best results using the Pinnacle wax, which was recommended by Jack, who has experience with yellow cars.

I have the same issues and use the car daily, so I wash and detail the car 2 or 3, sometimes 4 times per week depending on what I encounter on the roads.

I was hesitant to use paint again, but decided to give it one more try with the Griots.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I use the finest car care products available and I have it all, like P21S, Blitz, 3m, Maguires, Griots, etc.. and speed yellow swirls and marks up SO easy!!
I use on average 8 new sponge applicators just to polish and wax, micro fiber towels from Griots, you get the picture. I can't keep up and my C2 is only 2 months old. I had a Meridian 2001 986 S that after 2 1/2 years was nearly flawless. Any tips.... that I might not know of already. Thanks all.
I have the same issues and use the car daily, so I wash and detail the car 2 or 3, sometimes 4 times per week depending on what I encounter on the roads. Like you, I have found that the speed yellow really shows road grime and grease, as well as swirls. I have had the best results using the Pinnacle wax, which was recommended by Jack, who has experience with yellow cars. I think the only thing we can do is regularly clean and wax.
I am a little disappointed with the amount of maintenance SY requires. I thought that since it was a light color, it would be easy to maintain. Wrong!
my car hasn't swirled at all in 3 months, it's certainly easier than my wife's never ending series of green cars. but i do wash it once/week, whereas my seal gt2, meridian tt, and artc tt's i could wash once a month.
but SY rocks.
feel ur pain, that's why i like silver car. i almost got a SY car, but after i cool down a little bit, i still got a silver C4S. maybe a boring color, but in the long run, it rocks.
my suggestion to Porsche- come up with a metallic yellow. maybe that would be the solution.
Stephen,
You hit the nail on the head! Just finished remodelling with Griots tan floor paint and I love the lighter, brighter atmosphere....really shows the car nicely and offers a very comfortable atmosphere. I find myself enjoying just being in the room, more now than ever.
As part of the remodel, I added electric power, task lighting and switched air on wind-up reels - no more fumbing with extension cords, air lines, etc. And I bought the Griots adjustable height swivel chair for detailing sessions. All great, very functional products and fairly inexpensive. Adding a small, 12" wall mounted spare color TV tomorrow. Here's a picture of the new stuff.......
^_____^
I used to drive a black mercedes...(not even metallic)
But after switching to Speed Yellow, I feel released...
it's much easier to take care of... and I wash it once a week... Wax it Twice to three times a Year... and I use it Daily...
I guess it feels bad switching from silver to yellow...but it feels damn good from black to yellow ^____^
black in Los Angeles = Pain In Da A$$
John D II,
Where did you get the Griots floor paint (other than griots.com or is that the only place?) Did you acid etch the floor first? I painted my garage floor with some Behr garage floor grey but after 2 years it is coming up in several places and needs to be redone so I am looking for alternatives, but also considering tile as an option but must say your paint looks quite nice.
BTW, I disagree on keeping yellow clean, seems very easy to me as compared to black or any darker color and honestly just about as easy as silver IMHO.
When is the next party in the garage?
I believe the Griots catalog is the only place to purchase the Griots brand epoxy paint.
Yes, we acid etched, but prior to the etching, the floor was ground for a few hours by a couple of guys with high grit sandpaper and hand held grinders. This roughs up the concrete, which enables the paint to bond better. Like you, I had another brand of epoxy floor paint that did not hold up very well, so I had the contractor strip it. I was hesitant to use paint again, but decided to give it one more try with the Griots. This product is worlds different than the first paint. It is extremely tough, bonded phenomenally and set up thick and hard - like glass. After approximately one month, it shows no signs of wear or lifting. I think it's there to stay. Previously having a gray color and now tan, I would suggest the tan as it creates a much brighter and more inviting work area. Here's another picture which shows more of the floor......
