I use Pagid sport pads which are as good as the OEM pads on the street and exhibit much less fade for autocrossing, but still dust.

Suggestion

If I have to clean the rims more often then with the best brakes available I at least know that I have increased the probability that I'll continue to be around to clean them.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know which brand of aftermarket brakes doesn't make the rims dirty after 2-3k miles? Where can you buy online? Downside to doing swap from Porsche pads? I don't autocross or track, yet.

POST 2Original post

Do you not wash your car in 2-3k miles? I sure hope you do.

POST 3Original post

I'm with Viken on washing your car more often. Or did you mean 2-3 hundred miles instead of 2-3 thousand? That aside, I don't know of a cleaner pad. I use Pagid sport pads which are as good as the OEM pads on the street and exhibit much less fade for autocrossing, but still dust. You'd want an even more aggressive pad for DE's or time trials, but all of those pads dust quite heavily.

POST 4Original post

You really, REALLY don't want a cleaner "dust-free" brake pad. Unless you really want to double your stopping distance anyway. When I buy new brake pads I want the ones which will stop the car quickest, with little or no fade. If I have to clean the rims more often then with the best brakes available I at least know that I have increased the probability that I'll continue to be around to clean them.
