Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause

The reason it would be less is due to the fact that less time has elapsed and therefore you wouldn't be paying the interest based on "x" months.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just called the Porsche Lease Center and used the automated service. If I wanted to pay the car off now it would be "x" amount, not too bad. Now I entered a payoff date for next year (2/1/04) and the payoff amount went UP by almost 4k? Why does the payoff amount go UP the longer you're in your lease? I thought it was suposed to be the other way around. The early you ended your lease the more is cost? Weird -Kirby

POST 2Original post

The reason it would be less is due to the fact that less time has elapsed and therefore you wouldn't be paying the interest based on "x" months. The reason people say it costs more to get out of a lease early is because the leasing company will hammer you with a termination fee. Even by paying off the entire lease up front I still don't think you're "off the hook" and can return the car without a penalty - it just means you get to keep the car and not have so much interst to pay over the course of the lease term.
